- MacBook Seniors Guide: A Step-by-Step Manual for the Non-Tech-Savvy to Master Your Mac in No Time

It helped learning about my Mac Pro and I have never owed one until now!

So as I was downloading this book, I was able to see the various features. They were highlighted with some “colored” photos/content. And even though the details seemed to give me an idea of how to use a MacBook, it wasn’t as clear as I had hoped for. (Note: I actually purchased this book from Amazon in June, 2025.) After I received this book I returned it because I had been looking for more “Visual Color” photos showing every detail. So I ordered another book: “Teach Yourself Visually MacBook Pro” and got it in the mail last week. All of the beautiful color pictures showed everything as I had hoped for, step-by-step. And I am very happy with this book and am glad that I found a book that is exactly as I had been looking for.

Just what I ordered FAST!

I got this book to go through it with my dad, who’s 69 and just started using a MacBook for the first time. Honestly, it’s been really helpful. The instructions are easy to follow, with large text, clear steps, and lots of visuals. It doesn’t assume any prior tech knowledge, which makes a huge difference. My dad felt more confident with each chapter—checking emails, browsing safely, organizing files, etc. If you’re helping a parent or grandparent get more comfortable with their Mac, this book is a great tool to have on hand.

I know this book is aimed at seniors, but I am so new to Macbooks that I needed a good intro guide. This book is just what I was needing. There are some great screen grabs all along the way to help the learning process. The book starts with the basics, like turning on and setting up. But, then we move on to more advanced topics at an appropriate pace. The author spoke in a way that helped me learn and not in a condescending way. So, I appreciated that very much. I also thought the author moved at a great pace through the book, it was not too slow that I was bored or too fast that I was overwhelmed and lost. I think this is a good book.

The content of this book is very thorough and well written. However, the printing job, including both the paper and the boldness of the print, is NOT ideal “Seniors.” For that reason alone, I would not recommend other Seniors purchase this book.

It's easy to follow step by step, but it would be nice if it had an index and pages on trouble shooting

All the answers are in this book. I’m going from a Dell to a Mac and not learning very fast. But with this book, I will soon learn the basics of Mac. I am 81.

My father has always been what I would call a "Windows" person, and because he has heard so many good things about Macs, he has decided to make the switch but is unable to use it properly. To help him and not make him nervous every time he turns it on, I decided to give him this book that contains all the hidden tips and tricks he needs to get the most out of his Macbook. The instructions are very clear and intuitive and are guiding him in an easy way both to configure it and to do the most common actions such as going on social networks, shopping online and using e-mail. Finally, with this guide, he's getting around independently and I'm glad I gave it to him.
