This is a great adapter for converting a straight 1/4 mono plug into a right angle plug. I'm using it with my guitar cord to plug into a stomp box, and the right angle helps save space. The all-metal construction looks and feels sturdy. And great price - two adapters for under $10. Saves money - I don't need to buy a whole new cord.

I have a really small mini 3-channel mixer on a pedalboard. The pedal board goes on a stand. Without these right angle adapters, cords stick out annoyingly far. Bad feng shui. With the adapters, cords go straight down and don't block the precious musical manna. Or something like that. I like these. They seem way more sturdy than the adapters w/ plastic housing. Also, b/c they're aesthetically unique in my adapter collection, I won't get them confused with other 1/4" right angle adapters: TRS/TRS, TR/TRS, etc.

Works

These space saving 90 degree adapters come in handy, and can make a straight cable work in situations where a 90 degree end is needed on a cable, and you don't have one. They seem solidly constructed and work well in most applications. They do have an issue of clearance when trying to use them on Dunlop style pedal bodies (i.e. Cry Baby Wah and other pedals that use the same enclosure/rocker), but otherwise have worked well for me.

Super handy - for example plug this in to the front panel of a guitar amp so if you step on the instrument cord it doesnt torque your input jack, the plug easily pulls out of the downward facing elbow preventing any stress on the jack. Many other uses.

When I first got these, I loved them. They were solid, they gave me flexibility for my pedalboard, weren't noisy, etc. I ordered many of them and used them regularly. After a half a year or so they started failing on me. And it wasn't just one bad one, I had several of them fail. The jack inside would get loose after repeated connects/disconnects and although it looks like they have a cap that you can remove to service the jack, I couldn't get it open. There's no room for error in a live show, any weak jack in your signal chain leaves you dead in the water. Once I narrowed down my problems to these jacks, I threw them all out, got actual cables with serviceable jacks, and haven't had a single problem since. The risk isn't worth the convenience, just get yourself the right cables you need instead.

Just what I needed

I hate changing cables when I'm using a P bass which works best with a right angle cable end, and then I also have a J bass which has a 1/4" input on the side. I just pop one of these on the cable end, strap on my P bass and I'm done. Very easy and works well when gigging. It 'can' pop off if you step on the cable and don't wrap it around past your strap, so be forewarned. That's the best practice anyway.
