Mid 30s never did this before and am a heavy smoker & coffee/tea drinker. Product is amazing.
Okay, I've bought a lot of items on Amazon but I never review. Given the importance and potential danger of this particular product I decided to write one. I have been using this for 3 days. 2 times a day for 30 mins a time. This isn't a one size fits all product but this is how I been doing it to great results. Amazing results actually. I was nervous and skeptical. The following is my instructions and experience: Step one, brush your teeth and floss. Step two, dry your teeth. I use a cloth then make sure to not close my mouth so they stay dry. Step three, application: DO NOT PUT THIS STUFF DIRECTLY IN THE TRAY. SERIOUSLY. DON'T. You won't get anything from it other then extreme pain and waste. (Thankfully I knew this already though.) Gums don't grow back and if you've ever seen anyone "long in the tooth" that's what you could become if you're not careful. What you do is take little teenie tiny droplets (a tiny bit goes a long way) from the syringe and paint your teeth with a Q-tip or paintbrush being very careful to not touch any of the gums. Get close to the mirror , concentrate and take your time doing this. Keep your mouth open and teeth exposed during this. I am not doing both rows at a time. My bottom row is more sensitive then top and really don't see the bottom teeth when smiling anyways. Also it's much easier to do a row at a time. Step 4, put on guard. Do it for a little bit first time to gauge how sensitive you are. Like 5 mins. Then take it off and wait a hour or so. If feeling okay then redo and go for 15. If feeling fine after that redo and go for 30. I personally wouldn't advise doing more then 2 30 min sessions a day. This stuff is super duper strong and dangerous. Honestly I'm very surprised that it's even legal to buy over the counter. Step 5, SET A TIMER. (use your phone or something but for real use a timer.) Step 6, Stick the light thing in your mouth. It prolly doesn't do anything because real dentist lights are costly and hit a higher range of spectrum but use it anyways just to look silly if you have it. It's part of the experience lol. *Don't swallow. If your spit builds up too bad in your mouth go spit and then put the light thingy back in. (This type of peroxide is loosely linked to cancer so best to not eat it if possible.) When time goes off remove tray and gargle with some water. Keep a glass by the sink to be prepared. Then brush lightly (teeth and gums will prolly be a little sensitive so don't push the brush too hard) with a good toothpase that promotes enamel health. (I use Crest pro enamel. Seems to rejuvenate using it before and after the bleaching sessions. I must of increased 8 shades in 3 days multiple applications per day so it totally works great but do be careful. Plan on doing it for another couple days Know your limits here and patience is virtue. I've only used half of one tube so far. Way more product then you will ever need so maybe get extra guards and share with friends and family. Your teeth are weaker during this time. They can also regress quickly during this time. What I've been doing is using the guard on top row when I smoke to keep it off them. Also trying to avoid coffee/tea but drinking coffee/tea with a straw and the guard in for each sip. (total coffee and tea addict here) 7 days after your last bleaching session you can go back to normal routine. Just brush a bunch while waiting those 7 days and use some fluoride mouthwash too. Maybe that blue remineralization gel. Whatever just hit them buggers with a ton of nutrients so they get their strength back and don't regress. If you follow these directions you will have results. They may not be the most dramatic and trust me you're never going to look like TV people and magazines cause thats nothing but a parade of veneers and photoshop but you will lighten up considerably. Just be patient and good luck!~ ^^

3.7 Stars Works better than crest strips, cheaper, stronger and the 5 syringes can last a while
The directions are not the best but after reading some of the reviews I started -Applying the gel with a watercolor brush to target only the yellow areas of the visible front part of my teeth and stopped applying gel to the areas like the lower half & the tips of some of my front teeth that were already visibly white -I ended up not using the lower trays because they spread the gel on my gums causing them to painfully turn white or worse, recede! -I lay down without a pillow while being on a on a permanent 'super wide smile' position for 30 mins - face muscles does get sore as well as arms from holding a mirror and the blue light that accelerates the breakdown of the carbamide peroxide Update: I stumbled upon an item called 'Cheek Retractor' that helps hold your mouth wide and open like a mine shaft without getting too sore -I stopped drinking coffee entirely and use a straw to drink cola or ice tea, also experienced a bit of sensitivity, don't brush your gums too hard! I rated it 3.8 stars because it is a little tedious & time consuming but overall probably will be purchasing the gels again in two years from now if teeth gets noticeably yellow

Great product, excellent price.
My teeth were noticeably whiter with the first use. I already have custom trays made by the dentist so I can not comment on using the enclosed trays. The product is intense and my gums felt a stinging sensation at the gum line when I first applied the gel which subsided after a few minutes but it was tolerable and well worth the transient discomfort. I recommend removing any excess product with a q-tip. Any product of this type and concentration will cause this, not solely this one. My gums next to my teeth were white after I removed the product but it only lasted an hour or so. They looked bruised the next two days. But gums heal quickly. Just wait 3 or 4 days between treatments and use a soft toothbrush when this occurs. Again, worth the transient negative effects. Out of all of the 'blue LED light' tooth whitening acceleration products I've tried, this is by far the easiest to use. It is not heavy or cumbersome. It fits well in my mouth and I have a small jaw. It comes with a small inconspicuous round thin piece of plastic under the batteries to preserve the batteries prior to purchase. It needs to be removed for it to work. This is the best priced/most effective product I've ever purchased to whiten my teeth. Highly, highly recommend. Remember to store your gel in the refrigerator. Recap your syringe to slow oxidization of the product once uncapped.

Impressed with the results. Awesome Whitening Results
I bought this product because my teeth are yellow from drinking coffee. The products came exactly as shown in the picture. The mouth trays were easy to form fit around my teeth, are good quality and comfortable while wearing. So far I have used two complete tubes of the whitening gel and stored the rest in the refrigerator to help with the longevity of the product as instructed. My teeth are 4 to 5 shades whiter and I started at color 13. There is a color chart included so you can watch your progress as you whiten. I have tried strips before and I find this process to be more effective and easier to use. The price is much better as well. The little uv light is also very comfortable when going through the process. I am happy with this purchase and will continue to whiten my teeth using this product.

Definitely NOT 44%. This is my unbiased review.
I can honestly say after buying this that I'm not quite so sure that it's 44% Carbomide Peroxide. Let me explain why. About a year ago, I bought 44% Carbomide Peroxide off of Amazon. I bought this from a different seller at the time. That stuff was absolutely legit! If any of the gel got onto my gums, I knew it within a matter of minutes. My gums were bleached white, and the zingers were there. I have fairly non-sensitive teeth, so I would leave that gel on for 45 minutes at a time. I got amazing results with this! In a matter of a week (with 45 minute treatments) my teeth had completely brightened to "Hollywood status white". Unfortunately, I have a crown on my front tooth which meant that my surrounding teeth were outrageously bleached, and the crown remained (dingy in comparison). Therefore I went into the dentist to have a new crown put on to match my newly whitened teeth. My dentist informed me that I had amazing results, and the crown would have to be special ordered due to them not keeping that shade in house. He even showed me a chart and said that there were three unnaturally white shades that they could order to try and match the crown to my surrounding teeth. I wasn't the absolute brightest, but I was one step off. Regardless, let's fast-forward to this order. I ordered this because after having my crown replaced, My surrounding teeth started to fade after 12 months of daily coffee's, tea's, and other foods that didn't really help. This was only a problem because my crown, (which obviously won't change color), remained a bright pearly white. This time my surrounding teeth began to look dingy in comparison to my crown. My solution was to order another set of 44% Carbomide Peroxide, with the hope of getting the same results as before. I WAS UNABLE TO FIND THE FIRST SELLER I PURCHASED FROM ORIGINALLY, so I went with "Cool Teeth Whitening" version of 44% Carbomide Peroxide. *Enter this product* I started using this product expecting to get the same results. The first 2 nights I was left expecting more. I put an ample amount into my custom trays (made at my dentist office), and didn't notice any immediate results like I had with my first experience. Due to this, I decided to do 1 hour treatments instead of 45 minute ones, and I gave it 3 more days using the same amount. After 5 days with very little results and NO SENSITIVITY WHATSOEVER, I decided to really put too much on. I put enough onto my trays that when looking into the mirror I could see it overflowing out of my tray and onto my gums. Despite having the gel sitting on my gums for an hour, they did NOT get bleached whatsoever. I also did NOT get zingers. After trying this method, the only thing stopping me from fighting to get my money back, was the fact that I could vaguely notice my teeth were actually starting to whiten. The next night I decided to really put this product to the test. I did a one hour treatment, emptied and cleaned the tray only to refill the tray and do another treatment. In all, I did 5 hours worth of 1 hour treatments and ONLY THEN did I notice decent results. NO BLEACHED GUMS AFTER 5 STRAIGHT TREATMENTS. NO ZINGERS EITHER. The beautiful thing about having a crown in the front of my mouth, is that I know exactly what shade I'm trying to match. I know what shade I was capable of reaching, and this made it easy to know what results I should expect. I don't recommend anyone try 5 1-hour treatments with a real version of 44% Carbomide Peroxide. This is worth mentioning because there is no possible way that I could have done this with the first set of gel that I ordered a year ago. Just the though of sitting through 5 1-hour treatments with that solution back to back sounds like torture. I'm in no way claiming this product doesn't work. It just doesn't work nearly as well as the first 44% Carbomide Peroxide I ordered. Not even half-way as well as the first. Only possible solution I can think of, is that that either the first set I ordered were over concentrated, OR these were under concentrated. I've only ever used one other 44% Carbomide Peroxide, so I am unsure which was truly 44%. What I can tell you is that from all the reviews I read online, the first set I ordered was most likely the 44%. This stuff is probably closer to 20% (If I had to guess). When I do my treatments, I make sure to do it a certain way, so that my saliva doesn't just wash away all the gel. I probably look really stupid while I'm whitening my teeth, but it worked well the first time around. I obviously know how to do this correctly or else I would not have gotten such good results the first time around. I hope this review can reach someone serious about whitening their teeth. I got amazing results with another sellers 44% Carbomide Peroxide gel. Not this particular sellers version.

Excellent product!
I've had my teeth whitened professionally once 8-9 years ago and have tried to use strips (useless for me - wouldn't stay put) and other products similar to this one but, I suspect, much weaker formulation than 44%. I've just had my first treatment which I did for 20 mins. I have no soreness or gum sensitivity, though I did use remineralization gel as a precaution for 5 mins afterwards. I followed advice from a review here to put the gel on the front surface of each tooth, rather than in the tray as the directions indicate (this was because I remembered that when I used a similar product and applied it to the tray, I wasted alot of the gel). I'm going to continue with this application to each tooth surface in future. The result after only my initial treatment which lasted 15 minutes is quite remarkable! A *huge* improvement already so I'm inspired to continue this every day for a week and see just how much whiter my teeth will go. All manufacturers of products of this type make a big deal about how the product will only whiten natural enamel and have no impact on porcelain crowns or on acrylic surfaces. In my experience, they DO whiten these non-enamel surfaces - perhaps not as much as they whiten tooth enamel but there is visible whitening of both acrylic filling surfaces and of porcelain crown surfaces (as well as on my natural tooth enamel) after just this one single application. This the best product of its kind, as far as I can see.

Okay...
The trays are impossible to work with. I followed the directions perfectly (boil water, wait to cool, dip trays in for 4-6 seconds and remove) my trays shrunk immediately! I had a timer going and I pulled them out at 2 seconds and they were way too small for my mouth to use. I am using my Invisalign trays instead now but I am pretty disappointed. I would've just bought the gel had I known. Other than that the gel and the light both work very well. But it also did not come with the tooth color guide, so all I have to work with from the kit is the gel and light.. Not worth the money I paid. Be careful to keep the gel away from your gums, even just the smallest amount can burn you pretty badly and may take a few days to heal.

I kept my eyes on the watch and paid attention to how my teeth felt when ...
Dec 23, 2015 I realized that some of the low reviews were from the burning of the gums when using the trays. Hopefully those who read the negative reviews also read the positive reviews. I did and did not have a problem. Start by preparing the set and reading the instruction, as in the reviews on Amazon, and the pamphlet it comes with and taking the plastic out from underneath the batteries in the light. Compare your teeth to the chart so you are able to see its magic! Brush your teeth with Sensodyn or with toothpaste for teeth sensitivity. I rolled up four pieces of paper towels as thick as my pinky ( I used guaze pads as well at some points but ran out), and placed them between my gums and cheek in the four quadrants. Sizing also depends on the size of your mouth. I realized the gauze helps with soaking up your saliva since you shouldn't swallow it, with the possibility of the chemicals from the kit going into your system. Or you can place rolled up paper towels or gauze under your tongue. I then open the syringe and applied it to a tip of the swab. Then dot the gel on each of my tooth, and continued to gently rubbed it on with the swab. I did a tiny dot so it only cover 3-4 of my teeth at a time. After all the teeth are covered, I placed the light in my mouth. I kept my eyes on the watch and paid attention to how my teeth felt when breathing. As in if it was becoming sensitive as the air hit my teeth when I would breath in or if I felt a tingle, if so I would end the procedure. Also, I got a little on my gums since it was hard to apply the gel without touch your gums at all, and it tingle a bit but it wasn't burning or super painful. However, I have a higher tolerance for pain. My husband didn't complain either and he has a lower pain tolerance! But either way, be careful. If anything, just be prepare to spit out and brush. Anyways, after I finished, I spat out the product and brushed my teeth with toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Done! It was much whiter already. So far I had done two applications, both about 20-25 minutes, one day after the other. Someone had recommended to continue brushing your teeth with the toothbrush for sensitivity for the next few days. I did not and I my teeth was definitely very sensitive when eating my heart-attack chocolate cake three days later, so I won't whiten my teeth for a few days until it no longer is so sensitive! I bought 3 for my parents since they wanted to gift it to others! I also read that some thought it was unprofessional that everything was packaged in a plastic padded envelop, but... it is under $20 with great reviews compared to $50 to $700 at a dental place. If you prefer to pay an extra $30-680 for appearance/packaging, I won't judge, but I greatly prefer a great product and to save money so I can splurge on food :P YUM! December 30, 2015 Slightly sensitive still so I haven't used the product. I hardly feel it unless I'm eating very sweet items (had a few gingerbread cookies coated with sugar, five days ago and I was fine!) or breathing in freezing air. I am still using the toothpaste for sensitive teeth. January 23, 2016 Still white. I didn't go back to do any more after the two application. My family loves it though! February 16, 2016 I just whitened my teeth again for a photo shoot if four days! This is my go to now :) Although, I think I left it on there for too long since now my teeth feels a bit sensitive. It doesn't hurt, I just notice the feeling. I left it on for 20 minutes but wasn't paying attention. Also this time, I put it directly on my teeth from the tube so I may have put a bit too much.
