Ben Stiller stars as Brad, whose satisfying career, sweet wife and comfortable life in suburban Sacramento aren't quite what he imagined during his college glory days. When he accompanies his musical prodigy son on a university tour, he can't help comparing his life with those of his four best college friends who seemingly have more wealthy and glamorous lives. But when circumstances force him to reconnect with his former friends, Brad begins to question whether he has really failed or if their lives are actually more flawed than they appear. Also stars Jenna Fischer (The Office), Luke Wilson (Old School) and Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex).Bonus Content:A Look at Ben Stiller as BradA Culture of Comparing OurselvesMike White on Directing His Own ScriptThe Story of Brad's Status Review: A Gleaming Gem - BRAD’S STATUS, starring Ben Stiller, is a gleaming gem that shouldn’t be missed. I started laughing from the opening scene and continued doing so until it dawned on me that I was crying. Small, modest and utterly without pretense, it achieves a level of truth and emotional impact that is far beyond that of more exalted studio films. Michael White’s script is a wonder and the cast is stellar. Ben Stiller delivers the best performance of his career (his narrative voiceover alone, is probably the best I’ve heard) and Austin Abrams is profoundly good. He touches upon an authenticity of the rarest kind. (Besides writing the screenplay, Michael White also directed and plays a role in the movie. I’m blown way by the fact that he also wrote BEATRIZ AT DINNER, another film I found impactful in 2017.) Review: Excellent Product - This is the 3rd booklet In have bought from this author in this format and this one is because of the new rules for 2019. Perfect for carrying in your bag enabling quick decision making. Beat to store in a sealed bag to keep dry as pages can stick together if they get damp. Very good.

Average Ben Stiller
Average Ben Stiller movie.... he's good in it and the cast are very talented and give great performances. The problem lies with the script and the way in which the movie plays out, showing Ben Stiller's character as conflicted and feeling like his life is meaningless. He tries to compare himself to his old friends he used to know but when in reality, what they do isn't all it's cracked up to be. Overall: 6.5/10= Due to the performances, it gets a few extra points.... other than that, it's at most a rental on Amazon video... I personally wouldn't buy it. Ben Stiller I like but I think he's been in better films than this. Meh....

Ho-hum
Ho-hum. I bought this because I really like Ben Stiller but this was not his best work. I'll probably give the movie away because I'll probably never watch it again

Underrated Winner
"Brad's Status" captures beautifully and brilliantly the process and conscious states anxious parents go through in wanting their children to attend elite universities and colleges. I think parents who have children approaching college age would find this movie most appealing and illuminating.

Great, overlooked film!
A truly great film, sad that it flopped at the box office, maybe 20 years from now it will be deemed a classic.

What a rare gem of a movie!!!!!! Ben Stiller never better. A terrifically smart, funny, and insightful even story that anyone of a certain age can certainly relate to. This is no Hollywood standard film at all. I hadn't been aware of it and I don't think it was ever released. I highly recommend anyone who cares about quality and satisfying well written and acted film. Loved it.
