Touchscreen CarPlay WITHOUT Using A Cardo / SENA System
*** I write this as an owner and user of an iPhone. I suggest you check the product description for compatibility of other phones BEFORE purchasing. My only experience using this is with Apple / iPhones. **** Let's face it, the biggest complaint that I hear from other riders is that motorcycle GPS systems are woefully inadequate and often inaccurate. I know mine could be a LOT better, but I've accepted that the interface is only a platform to use better apps. Unfortunately, CarPlay won't work on our bikes WITHOUT a hand-free connection like a Cardo or SENA device provides. FEAR NOT - this MaedHawk eliminates the "hands-free" demand of those units to give you access to CarPlay on your equipped motorcycle. The MaedHawk is a fraction of the price of a Cardo or SENA headset. It also takes up a fraction of the space - which is always at a premium on motorcycles. **** Your Bike MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE GPS SYSTEM / subscription for this device to work. This is NOT a hardware workaround to a missing software option **** ****Both the male and female end of this device is USB-C, so PLAN ACCORDINGLY FOR ADAPTERS / CABLES to connect it between your bike and phone. Once in place on your bike, it's a simple matter of pairing the device to your bike, then making a physical connection between the phone and MaedHawk. Once complete, you should see CarPlay on your touch screen. This is pretty handy for using that app, Google Maps, Waze, Weather apps - whatever you have installed on your iPhone that you want to access through the touchscreen on your bike. When properly connected, the MaedHawk will also CHARGE your phone while you're using the available apps. You should check that you hear the tone that it's charging when you connect it before your ride. I have had the most success maintaining a connection using USB to USB-C CABLES over ADAPTERS. The cable connections seem more secure and provide some flexibility in storing the MaedHawk and Phone in a compartment in the bike. Adapters seem to work themselves loose from vibration far more often than the cables. This device performs well to solve the connectivity issues of a hands-free requirement to use CarPlay / phone apps on your motorcycle's touch screen.

2025 CVO RG; works flawlessly!
Got this for my 2025 CVO Road Glide and works perfectly. Sometimes takes a second to link up, but I'm pretty sure that's the Skyline OS rather than the bypass. Compatible with 23.5 CVO and 24+ Touring models. Literally plug it in, connect bluetooth and boom; installed! You got Wireless CarPlay. Only downside is you cannot talk but you're bypassing the Mic feature on the bike so hopefully you already know you won't hear text audio or be able to talk.

Harley Davidson will void your head unit warranty if you use this and have issues.
I purchased one of these for my 24 RG CVO in January 2025. Before ever connecting it to the bike, I was having intermittent connectivity issues that I assumed was related to the Skyline OS being new and code still being a little buggy. Sometimes the phone wouldnt connect when it was plugged in before turning the bike one, sometimes the phone would just disconnect randomly and reconnect back while riding. It had no clear pattern or cause. By the spring of 2025 I had purchased a new phone, and installed an update to the skyline OS and everything seemed better. I had tested the maedhawk device on the bike well before ever taking it out to ride and it seemed to do the trick. Carplay was working, the connection issues seemed to have mostly sorted themselves out aside from the occasional lack of connection when starting the bike still after a quick stop (like for getting fuel). Towards the end of summer 2025, it completely shifted. I could only use bluetooth to stream music, connecting my phone to the cable would only connect for a few seconds, then disconnect, then reconnect over and over. Obviously Carplay wouldnt stay connected regardless of whether or not I was using the maedhawk or the bluetooth headset in one of my helmets. So I took it to my local dealer and had them investigate, they came back and said it was likely a bad usb cable, and put a request in for a replacement that was back ordered - it did not arrive until the middle of winter. Fast forward to just this past week, in april 2026. I bring the bike in to have the garage door opener enabled and to let them install the replacement usb cable. Well they did the work but when they tested the bike it was still disconnecting even with the new cable. So the dealer called HD tech support - HD told them that my bike showed that the maedhawk had been connected and they would not honor any warranty work on the head unit. Turns out, anything you connect to the bike gets logged which is understandable, and that data is collected by Harley Davidson, also understandable. I can appreciate that a business can't account for every possible scenario or thing that can be plugged into a usb system, but the fact that it seems like HD has been aware of issues with the maedhawk and made no attempt to warn bike owners of the issue or even communicate to them what the risk may be to the warranty on their $2400.00(ish) factory head unit UNTIL a dealer calls to get support. The dealer kind of messed up because they spent hours troubleshooting it just to find out it wasn't going to be warranty covered which cost them time and money. So, dont buy this and plug it into your bike if its still under warranty and you want to or need to use it. I can't verify or disprove whether or not it was to blame for any actual issues I was having, but when I asked if I'd have coverage for any issues that arose now that I've been informed of this, they said no. Once its been connected, Harley is not honoring any warranty on the 2023.5+ Harley Davidson Skyline OS head unit.

It is finiky. The adapter must be connected first, then the phone. Otherwise it’s a cramp shoot if it connects. If not, you may have to remove it and re -pair. After the initial connection, the volume control was limited to a max 1/4 volume. I removed and paired again the next day and it was ok. Seems to work ok if you’re not switching between helmet. But slow to connect.

Works for bypassing Bluetooth headset on motorcycles.
So far it works very well with my apple CarPlay on my goldwing motorcycle. It made using CarPlay without a Bluetooth headset paired, which is exactly what I needed.

Great little device if you want android auto!
Great bypass for Indian Challenger riders. If you are looking to get android auto on your infotainment screen this is part of the puzzle you need. I tried this and upon first power on the bike immediately recognized and I saw the android logo. Its small and pretty self-explanatory. Only item of note, this will continue to pull power so make sure you unplug when not in use. Installation is again self-explanatory just plug into a usb C charger and then pair to your phone. You are done.
