Airfix A01005 Mitsubishi Zero 1:72 Scale Series 1 Plastic Model Kit

just finished this kit. This is my first kit of the new tooling Airfix kits, its a very nice model it all went together wellonly a little mr surfacer was needed on a couple of seams. ok ive given it five but i do have a few gripes about the kit.First the rear cockpit bulkhead that you attach the seat too both lower lugs were missing, second the control column broke into tow while being removed from the sprue despite using cutters.Third the yellow decal strips for the leading edge of the wings would not conform to the curve of the wing despite copious amounts of decal soloution, so i had to resort to airbrushing the yellow strip.despite these small problems i consider the kit to be well worth a look and value for money so much so that ive already purchased the same kit but under the kit number A01005A and i intend to do this one as a Pearl Harbour Zero so i'll need to purchase some aftermarket decals for this.It is also the first model that ive built that i have put a wash on to bring out the panel lines which i bought through amazon

Kit is excellent. Parts fit well with nice surface detailling. Transfers are also sized correctly though the yellow wing transfers were not used so am unable to vouch for those. The refuel point on the wing is tricky to glue on and easy to snap off but otherwise a very pleasent build. Extremely good value at £5.99! Finished model looks reasonably like a Zero from photos at 1:72. A shame only one scheme is provided or would definitely get more than one.

Image is for 1941 "pearl Harbour" finish, but Item delivered is 1944 dark green finish (one finish option only). Product code is correct though, so google A01005 to see what you will receive. The image/finish shown appears only to come as a starter set or dogfight double.However, the kit received seems like a VERY nice little kit, with plenty of detail. Very clean etched (sunken) lines throughout, detailed radial engine front, and cockpit: which comprises of side details inside fuselage plus a few nice peices to assemble (and then surprisingly uses a decal for the main instrument console!). Single piece canopy, which although maybe not as thin and clear as those expected in some of the more expensive Japanese kits on the market right now, it is still good by Airfix standards. The rest of the kit certainly does hold its own in this market (and you get a pilot :)One finish option: 201st Kokuta, Tabera Airfield, East New Britain, Papua New Guinea, 1944 - Dark green upper, light beige/green belly.So, although the image is extremely misleading, and I have not got the aircraft I thought I was buying, I have to say this little kit has completely blown me away with its fantastic detail, hence 4 stars.

This is a simple kit. Good fun for a beginner. Nice details on kit. It has the option of raising the wing tips and Airfix didn’t skimp of a pilot figure. The fit is very good and I’m happy with the final kit. Options for drop tank and wheels up & down. Instructions are straight forward and decals are high quality.

This is one of Airfix's new tool kits and the quality and fit of the parts is excellent. There is nice detail in the cockpit, wheel wells and engine and the surface detail is very fine. Markings are provided for only one machine but it's the classic green/grey with black cowling which is fine by me and it looks great. Highly recommended for modellers of all ages and skill levels.

Thought I'd try a level 1 as I normally do a level 3 or 4. Was pleasantly surprised at the detail of this Airfix model. Would definitely recommend to anyone new to modelling. Fantastic little kit.

Great little kit. Far better than I was expecting for the price (£5.99). Went together very well without any major filling or alterations. I’ll be buying more of these excellent Airfix kits.

detail and fit are ok.beginner up level, worth the price, ideal as a pilot donar and empty seat display. glue and paint not included

It's a very easy model that can be completed in one night. It's clearly labelled and everything falls nicely into place. A beautiful model that comes with a good price.
