Nice kit, easy setup
Wanted a scroll saw that could be disassembled as my workbench is small and I can't afford the space permanently. This clamps onto the workbench and is very easy to assemble. It comes with a variety of blades for cutting various materials. As with any thin blade, it cuts best and straighter if you cut slowly and are careful with how much pressure you apply. Push real hard and the blade will drift to one side. Go slow and you get a nice clean cut along the desired cut line. The bed is plastic as most dremel accessories. Also you must order the miter guide separately as it is not included. Otherwise, very happy with the purchase.

Great scroll saw with very few limitations...
I received this scroll saw and have been using it for about 2 weeks now. This is my first scroll saw and I didn't want anything complicated, large, expensive, or noisy. After reading the reviews on here and other places, I decided this was the best choice for me. It is small and portable which is a plus for me since I don't have dedicated workshop and typically end up just tinkering in a spare room in my house which I have kind of turned in to my "work area". The only thing is, it still has to be cleaned up and presentable for company and such. The price was right. I'm sure I could have gotten a more "capable" unit for not a whole lot more, but then I would have had to go through review after review and try to make a choice from that. I've been using Dremel products for years and have never had any issues with their products. The reviews I read on this stated that the noise level was bearable, and it is! I have been around other scroll saws and this one is much quieter. I would recommend wearing ear plugs though, just to keep you safe if you'll be using it for quite awhile. So far the power of the unit is strong and has never strained when cutting through any material I've put through it. Like I said, this is my first scroll saw, but I believe I made a very good choice! I have not tried the "coping saw" feature of this saw and honestly don't intend to, so I really can't comment on that. I know there are quite a few reviews on here complaining able not being able to find blades, since they are a pinned 4" blade, but Olsen has now come out with 3 different blades for this unit and they are readily available either through their website or even on Ebay I've seen people are now selling the Olsen blades for a very reasonable price. There are a few things I wish I would have known before making a scroll saw purchase, but this is my fault for not researching more and doing my homework. With that said, I do wish I would have realized that with "pinned" blades you won't be able to cut out those tiny little pieces since you do have to drill pilot hole in order to get your blade inside those little areas before you can cut them. So that may have changed my mind about purchasing a unit that only uses pinned blades. Another thing is that I wish Dremel would just have included the miter gauge with the unit instead of having to call their customer service and ordering it separately. Yeah, it was only $5 plus tax and $2 shipping, but for that small amount, why not just throw it in? All in all, I'm still very happy with the purchase I made and I would definitely recommend it to anyone! It will make a great choice for anyone just getting started, someone who doesn't want to spend a lot, doesn't have a lot of room or a dedicated workshop, and is looking for another great Dremel product!

not loud. VERY easy to use.
So, I'm an arthritic 74-yr-old female leather worker (hobbyist). I needed to make a sort of mold/form/jig to wrap leather around while I made the wallet. This is my first time using a saw to cut smooth corners, and it worked beautifully. Since it was my first try, I then smoothed down my slightly jaggedy curve with a belt sander, also small, that I own. I feel so good about this purchase. The price was outstandingly good, the blades went in easy as fishin'. The saw itself sits very securely with its clamp on my workshop table. No worries there. Since I do small stuff, the saw table is more than large enough for my needs. I love this!

Perfect!
One you get a handle on using this, it becomes easier to do bigger crafting jobs. My only complaint is the this item did not come with the t-slide guide like my older Dremel Moto Saw did.

so I know what a top of the line scroll saw "feels" like. This saw is *not* a Hegner
I purchased this saw to use as a small quiet "scroll saw" for cutting out small parts for model ships. I have a full size Hegner, so I know what a top of the line scroll saw "feels" like. This saw is *not* a Hegner. If you accept that, and and use this saw for light duty precise sawing it seems to be a great little saw. I attempted to saw a 5/8ths piece of pine, and while the saw will cut it without stalling, it is very difficult to cut straight precise lines. Working with 1/4 inch basswood, the saw is pretty precise and cuts without effort. The result was straight enough that after a quick buff with sandpaper I had a very good glue joint. It is quiet (about as loud as a sewing machine) and clamped in its "table" the vibration is minimal (for s scroll saw). Out of the box, the table is flat and the blade is perpendicular to the table surface resulting in a nice square cut. Clamp it to a sturdy table top and you are ready to go in minutes. Changing blades is very easy, but the blade tension is not adjustable. It only takes pinned blades so forget using jeweler's saw blades or pin-less scroll saw blades. The on/off switch is a bit stiff, and when the saw is mounted in the table I find it uncomfortable to turn on and off. I really think this unit should be used with a simple on/off foot switch (dead man switch). I have used this saw for two and a half years and it still works great.

This is exactly the right tool for the scale modeller working in polystyrene sheet plastics or light metals. It's super easy to set up and use. I was cutting plastic in about 10 minutes after opening the box. Some here are saying the saw is too loud. It's not. For one thing, it's a scroll saw, they are noisy by nature. Secondly, this isn't even that loud. It's no louder than a sewing machine and is about the same volume as my small airbrush air compressor. You probably don't want it in a small apartment with paper walls, but beyond that, its perfectly fine. It would be nice if it had an LED light facing down on to the cutting area, but that's easily rigged up. It should come with the miter gauge though. I'm not sure why that was made an extra.

Just recieved, upon opening was disappointed as I Recieved a demo piece I believe , has fingerprint marks all over, the saw tool is been polished with some wax polish or something, has saw dust inside the saw. Visibly looks old with Faded paint surface. Had to import from us expecting good quality but donno can't expect Amazon quality check...... Donno what to do with it, as we needed for my school kids projects delayed as it is. Further update recieved only 9 blades on package shows 10 blades. It's just a hapazardly packaged piece. Utterly disappointing.
