Ting Electrical Fire Prevention Sensor & Service - Residential Use Only

I can’t say enough about Ting. We had an electrical problem that required several licensed electricians to our home attempting to diagnose why our entire home’s electrical system was dimming day and night. We were concerned about a potential electrical fire. And the concern was valid. Electricians tried to sell us new electrical panels for thousands and charge us thousands to do deeper diagnostics. It was a complete ruckus. Then we heard about Ting from a neighbor who had an amazing experience with them. They identified and solved their electrical issue by identifying the electrical companies connection to their home was bad. We purchased a Ting. Plugged it into the wall and downloaded the app. Set up was a piece of cake. Then Ting went to work. We could read the electrical surge throughout our home and see it arching. The Ting team immediately contacted us and verified we indeed had an electrical issue. From there, we spent more than a week working directly with the Ting team to go through our entire electrical system in small steps to rule out and identify the issue- our entire home’s electrical issue was a new faulty Lutron electrical timer that had a lamp plugged into it. Once we removed the timer, problem solved. Ting solved our entire home’s electrical issue essentially for FREE. That’s right there was zero costs or fees charged to us for hours and hours of diagnostics and assistance provided to identify the cause of our arching. I’m a Ting advocate for life! One of the best products on the market. Their product and customer service is exceptional and they saved us thousands of dollars and from a potential electrical fire. Thank you, Ting!

Very easy to set up. I assume it works because it's already shown blackouts and brownout. Definitely gives me a piece of mind knowing it's monitoring my electrical system.

This little device could potentially alert you to an electrical problem before it becomes something more serious. My brother introduced me to Ting because he also has one, and I’ve been very happy with the information it provides. The app shows nearby power outages, lets me know if my power goes out while I’m away from home, and provides information about events like brownouts. I’ve experienced one brownout since installing it, so I appreciate being able to monitor things in case there is an electrical issue somewhere around the house. I also like being able to check the app and see the electrical fire hazard status and other useful information in one place. For me, it’s a proactive approach to monitoring my home’s electrical system and gives me additional peace of mind. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to add another layer of awareness and protection for their home and family.

This product and company are absolutely incredible. My Ting immediately detected a serious issue in my house with an overloaded circuit. They worked directly with my electrician to help identify the problem, get it fixed, and eliminate the hazard. What really blew me away is that Ting also covered the cost of the electrical work. The fact that simply by owning their product, they found a potentially dangerous issue and then took care of getting it resolved is pretty incredible. The communication from this company is, bar none, some of the best I have ever experienced. Their hours run from early morning until late at night, and every time I call, someone picks up right away. They are always familiar with my case, and everyone I have spoken with seems to have a deep knowledge of electrical systems. I really cannot say enough good things about Ting. My unit is still in the learning mode but wanted to share my first impressions of the product. Small, easy to setup and doesn’t block top outlet when plugged in. I’m hoping it will detect power discrepancies as advertised and sure it will do that. The app is simple and easy to use. We plugged it in a room we don’t use that much and very happy that we did. That little led light that is always on and informs you of the status is very, very bright. Do not plug this into a bedroom where you sleep unless you don’t want to sleep. After the unit does its learning thing which is about 7/8 days I may do an update. The monitoring fee of $49 a year is cheap. That’s 10 cents a day for peace of mind.

As a professional electrical engineer, I was curious about this product. It claims to be capable of detecting electrical hazard in residential. I have to say the product is a disappointment and the customer service is far worse. Trust the complaints and reviews in Better Business Bureaus (BBB). There are hundreds of complaints there. While many people might purchase this for “peace of mind”, the only peace you get is wasting your hard earned money on a product that does not work as advertised. So save yourself the money and the hassle because the company will go an extra mile to deny you a refund. The whole business seems to be set up to upsell you electrician service call from false positive alert. THE PRODUCT: It claims to detect hazard by detecting radio frequency (RF) in the electrical voltage sine wave. The issues is many other common household appliances also generate RF and are electrically noisy without being a hazard. The device also plugs into a wall outlet, hence it is only sensing the voltage on one leg of the 120/240V split phase residential circuit. In order to sense both circuits, one must install two of these on both legs. The device also falsely detects “loose neutral” issues on the utility side before the meter. The app is clunky and within a few days, it starts losing WiFi signal randomly before completely lost connective and become useless. Customer service advised the communication module in the unit may have gone bad. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Returned the device using the pre-paid shipping label. Still no refund after two weeks the return package was received by the seller. Amazon customer service contacted the seller on my behalf and yet still no response from the seller after 48 hours. Finally, Amazon customer service stepped in and refunded my order. This company is shady at best.

This is an amazing monitor. It monitors every outlet in my home and shows if each one is performing the way it should. My home is over 50 years old and I have always worried about electrical fires. Not anymore! I recommended every member of my family to purchase one for their homes.

The Ting arrived ready to use. Its setup instructions and explanation info are excellent. The Ting company will send a report to the user, via email, after a week of testing and “learning” your house’s electrical outlets. Afterwards, you choose your billing payments. The price is a huge bargain!

Works exactly like described. No surprises

I contacted ting about the renewal rate. If you live in the USA, it's $49 in US dollars. If you live in Canada, and they find out (my case) THEY WILL DISCONNECT YOUR SERVICE. It works fine here, it's a shame they have not officially expoanded service to Canada yet. Apparently it's being sold here by an unauthorized third-party seller.
