Needed to replace some for a set of shelves and these matched perfectly. Worked great for our fix

Use pilot drill for melamine & works great!
Perfect for 1/2” melamine board. You must use a pilot drill for it to work correctly. I used the Snappy 5 x 40 pilot drill & it made it simple starting with the first screw.

Perfect for projects using Melamine
I have found the confirmat screws have work well for joining melamine standards and shelving. Adds a bit of confidence to the holding power of the joints.

Where's the plastic covers!
Screws were fine. The unit was supposed to come as a set, screws with plastic caps. The caps never came which is why I chose this set. I would not recommend this product.

Works great on particle board, includes bits!
Perfect for particle board! Pulled in tightly without stripping. I do recommend a drill bit made for the screws to cut the countersink for the head and the slightly larger hole for the shaft above the threads. Was delighted to find hex shaft screwdriver bit and a Allen wrench in the package to fit the hex head screws.

Performed As Expected
These screws are intended for use on MDF and particle board materials. They have deep, course threads for great holding power in these materials which can be more likely to experience fastener pull-out than regular screws in stick lumber. Most of these type of screws include “self-tapping” in the description which can be a bit unclear. The tips of the screws are not pointed (in the vast majority of cases) and do not have any channel cut into the shaft at the tip for ease of penetration. Without piloting first you risk splitting of the material if driven into the edge or mushrooming between layers if flat as there is no where for the displaced material to go. This is more common on MDF as it does not compress as much as particle board. The bulge below the thin head is 6.2mm, or close to 25”, both in diameter and depth. The shaft diameter is 3.4mm or 0.13”. The threaded portion is approximately 1.46” long. The trial pilot hole used for driving the screw into the edge of 3/4” MDF was 9/64” and probably should have been larger since the MDF split too easily. The MDF would probably fare better with a 5/32” pilot. The countersink for the screw head bulge should be ¼” and ¼” deep, or something close, again, to avoid splitting, and should be done before the deep pilot hole for the thread. The supplied bit fits snugly in the screw head and the screws drive easily. The price point is average for screws this size.

Buena solución para no dañar la melamina
Buena calidad… ojalá y pudieran mejorar precio por pieza… ya que si es una ventaja usar este tipo versus el tradicional tornillo
