The outer box was ripped in several places had to inspect to ensure the equipment was safe, the inner box with the equipment was intact shipping was fast great security camera system, and it was easy to install. Picture quality was great, cable supplied was 60 feet which is more than enough. The overall value for the money is outstanding.

This is a basic security system with decent picture quality. I don't rely upon the AI as I haven't found it to be reliable enough. I typically get a bunch of false alerts. With a 4k picture quality, it gives me a decent picture. I can tell when it is my cat in the yard and not the neighbors. This particular system comes with four cameras, but the NVR can hold up to 8 if you want to expand. Running the four cameras continuously, I'm getting a bit more than a week before it overwrites. The system comes with everything you need for set up. The included ethernet cables are 60 ft, but you can extend them up to 300ft without needing a booster. All in all, the system is easy to set up, decent picture quality, and works decently for home security.

I needed something to record the outside area of our workshop and these fit the bill. They feel like they are nice quality and the hard drive space allows for lots of room for video recording. They app is also super nice and defender is a solid company. The best part is the quality of the video. Both day and night vision videos is superb! Everything is sharp and clear and having 4 cameras also you to cover lots of ground!

Camera started failing one by one after 3 months.

However, the initial setup, involving multiple components and configurations, can be a bit complex for users without technical expertise. Constant Connection Issues! I went with a POE style wired system to avoid the problems with wireless systems I have used in the past, but unfortunately I was met with similar issues, from a wired system. This system has the right features and does function well when it works, with good video quality, and OK AI identifying features. Th Ai features are more hit and miss then reliable in my experience, with it often missing a person when they fully in frame with a visible face, other times it will identify a person when only a part of the body is in fame, very frustrating but livable. The biggest issue I have is the cambers seem to disappear from the system randomly. I can look at the interface now and see all the cameras, but 5 minutes later it would give me an error message, camera 1 or 3 has gone offline. How does a wired POE camera go offline? Tech support was not able to figure that out or help, but they have opened a case to research it. I own other Defender systems and decided to try one of the older POW cameras with this system, and after a week it has no disconnected once, while every other camera that was supplied has disconnected multiple times, each requiring a full system reboot to find it. One thing I have noticed is that when a camera goes offline, it is usually very warm, even hot to the touch immediately after going offline. Perhaps the new style cameras are suffering from the hot Florida sun and overheating, but it does not occur with any of my older generation Sentinel cameras. At this point, the system is still questionable, as tech support has not found a solution to my issues, but I will add that they have been great to deal with, even sending me replacement cameras and taking the supplied ones back for testing and inspection. While this is great customer service, and I definitely appreciate that in these days of chat bot tech support, it still seems to me like a device issue, that should have been found prior to releasing the item.

I got the 4 camera, 1TB option. This is a wired Ethernet NVR with POE (power-over-ethernet) so only one wire to route to the camera that provides both the data connectivity and power. Easy to set up, though the routing and mounting takes a lot of effort and planning to get it set up cleanly. Mine came with 4 cameras, but the NVR supports up to 8. The cameras are quite high quality. The video is pretty sharp and colors are bright. It seems to compress decently well too so the 1TB drive can hold quite a bit of footage. It can run locally so doesn't need to upload all the video feed to some other service. Overall, a nice security camera setup for the home.

I installed it yesterday and I really like it. Clear at night and easy to install and set up. I passed all my wire in the attic, that was the hardest part of the job.
