I recently purchased the Starter Kit for Raspberry Pi 5 (8GB RAM) and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. The quality of the aluminum case is outstanding. Up until maybe a month ago, I had never even heard of a Pi, let alone thought that I would one day own one. But here I am, a month or so later, not only owning one, but raving about how amazing it is! And not just how great the Pi 5 is, but how this particular package from iRasptek goes beyond amazing! Especially for a “noob” like myself, who has little to no knowledge in this area, as it comes with everything one needs to get up and running immediately! This |Starter Kit” is really something! It comes with 1x Pi 5 8GB Board, 1x Active Cooler, 1x Pi 5 Metal Case, 2×4K Cable, 1x 27W USB-C PD Power Adapter, 1x Instruction Manual, 1x GPIO Reference Card, 1x 128GB TF Card, 1x Card Reader. It features a 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor running at 2.4GHz and has unparalleled graphics performance from an 800MHz VideoCore VII GPU; dual 4Kp60 display output over HDMI; and state-of-the-art camera support from a rearchitected Raspberry Image Signal Processor. Some pretty darn impressive stats for such a tiny device! I purchased mine to use in my 3D printing set-up and it’s the perfect system for this application. It does everything I want and need it to do, quickly and efficiently and then some! Being so new to this kind of tech, I had plenty of questions and the folks at iRasptek were more than accommodating. They responded quickly and with exactly the information that I needed and were a true joy to deal with! Something quite rare and very welcome these days! I could go on and on about how amazing this package is, but my best advice would be to get it and see for yourself, just how incredible this package is! Arrived on-time and in perfect condition. The box is compact and well organised. Everything is safely packaged. Very easy to put together, just be careful about your alignment of the active cooler as you don't get a second chance to have it line up with the holes for the pins. I had no problem looking directly down from above and slowly pressing it into place. No issues fitting the board into the case and the screw holes lined up perfectly, as did the ports with their respective holes in the side. Insert the micro SD card AFTER you install the board in the case to avoid damaging it. Installing it will be easy. The metal case in this kit is, in my opinion, sturdier and easier to deal with than the plastic case that came with my pi 3B+ (and I have no issues with that case either). All-in-all, a good purchase for me and I am quite happy with it! I am currently using it to brush up on my Linux command line knowledge and also learning Python 3 using Thonny (at the moment). Ultimately, I will integrate this into my home automation system currently being developed. I will also use the pi5 for a number of electronic experiments that I have planned. I will likely buy this again, and certainly recommend it. Thanks, and good job iRasptek! 14EC2024 edit: I have been enjoying this kit quite a bit. As part of my home automation project (and weather project, air quality project, AI bird recognition project, etc. ...) I have been acquiring a lot of tech, including another Pi5 from a different vendor as I needed the SBC and nothing else. That Pi5 had an SDRAM failure and I returned it today. I think I will just buy another from iRasptek as that one has been chugging away without a hitch. I tend to stick with what, and who, works for me. Cheers!
