Alien Gear Shapeshift Starter Kits

Awesome product and is exactly what I needed. Arrived at my house in a reasonable amount of time

Bought the Alien Gear Shape Shift Core Carry Pack last month and I have been very happy with it. I always want to buy various holster configurations for any guns that I carry and would need differnt products for different conditions. This pack covers everything in one box and for a very affordable price considering what it comes with. You get IWB which is very comfortable and can be configured different ways for comfort, including appendix carry There are different choices in OWB including including Paddle, double and single belt loop. They even include an extra attachment that you can mount in your car or to a piece of furniture that the holster will attach to for quick access. One great feature other that excellent comfort is that you need no tool to change configurations. When you first open the box, the first thing you notice is that this kit comes with a lot of parts but after five minutes of looking things over it's very simple and easy to reconfigure. Very interesting concept in holsters.

BLUF: Great holster, fantastic deal for the number of holster combinations, comfortable... Except it doesn't fit the M&P Shield 9mm M2.0 EZ with the 3.675 barrel. Wish they included barrel lengths in their descriptions. Was really excited to get the holster set and finally have a durable AND versatile holster that I could use in different configurations. Opened the box, tried to slide my Shield into the holster and couldn't get it in more than 2 inches. Verified the box said "M&P Shield 9mm M2.0" so figured the retention might need to be adjusted. Using the little retention clip to adjust the screw was difficult. Not a lot of leverage to turn the screw so it can be difficult. Regardless, I loosened it and tried again with no luck. Removed the thumb release on the opposite side and tried once again. No Luck. Moved the holster to the half shell configuration with the AIWB setup and slide the pistol in... Barrel reached the end of the shell and noticed that the trigger guard didn't fully cover the trigger like the pictures showed. While it did fit the Shield this way, it was not going to be satisfactory with the trigger still slightly exposed. Maybe not a huge deal for those with the thumb safety variant, but mine only has the rear grip safety which could be depressed if leaned on so trigger guard is a must. Did some research on the Alien Gear website and turns out they have a holster for the 9 shield EZ listed as "S&W M&P M2.0 Compact 3.6 inch barrel 9/40," but they don't offer this amazing Shapeshift Core Carry Pack for the gun. Frustrating because there's nothing like it on the market and this is an amazing deal. Even looking at their website you can see how great this is. Their "Cloak Tuck" is $44, the "Cloak Slide" is $40, the Paddle Carry is $48. That's $132 for 3 holster variants this Core Carry Pack covers and not including the most common Appendix holster.

There is no way to configure simultaneously available options for the holster. For example, it cannot be configured for an inner carry and immediately switch to an outer carry configuration. The user has to disassemble one configuration before assembly can be accomplished in another configuration. The appendix carry was very comfortable in various positions along the waistband. But, it is a very expensive kit when considering the limitations.

I bought the core pack thinking this is a great idea I buy this and then just purchase different shells for additional firearms I purchase. However I have made two firearms purchases both were MOS and Ailen gear does not offer shells for them. It’s very disappointing I have had to purchase different holsters instead of just being able to add shells.
