Is cabosil hs5 equivalent to cabosil m5?

Works good, you just have to keep adding a little at a time to your pre mixed resin/hardener mix until you get the right consistency for your job. Be sure to wear a good dust mask as this stuff is feather light & will blow all over, it weighs nothing.

can this be mixed with bondo to thicken?

Yes this can thicken bondo. Just be careful because if you add to much your bondo will be dry.

Is this hydrophobic or hydrophyllic?

CAB-O-SIL M-5 is widely used to provide thickening, thixotrophic (shearthinning), and anti-settling behavior in liquid systems. M-5 is most efficient in non-polar to medium polarity systems. M-5 offers the best balance of thickening efficiency and dispersibility
