Solid case. Great design. Amazing customer service!
Okay, so I recently snagged the TORRAS 360ยฐ Spin Magnetic Stand case for my Google Pixel 9 Pro XL, and honestly, I'm pretty impressed. You know how you get a new phone and then the hunt for the perfect case begins? Well, I think I might have found it with this one. First off, the stand is a game-changer. It's super sturdy, and the fact that it spins 360 degrees is way more useful than I initially thought. Whether I'm watching videos in landscape or video calling in portrait, it just works. Plus, the magnetic hold feels really secure, so I'm not worried about my phone slipping off my magnetic charger. The case itself feels really good in my hand too. It's not too bulky, which is a major plus for me since the Pixel 9 Pro XL is already a pretty big phone. It seems like it offers decent protection too, although thankfully I haven't had to put that to the test yet! But here's where it gets even better: the customer service. I actually had a tiny little issue with my order and I reached out to TORRAS. Seriously, the response was lightning fast, and the person I talked to was so helpful and genuinely wanted to sort things out. They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. It's those kinds of experiences that really make a difference, you know? It makes you feel like you're actually dealing with real people who care about their customers. So yeah, overall, I'm really happy with this TORRAS case. It does exactly what it says it does, and the added bonus of fantastic customer service just seals the deal. If you've got a Pixel 9 Pro XL, I'd definitely recommend checking this case out. It's a solid buy!

An Outstanding, Stand Up Case For The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL
For background, this is my second Torras case, the first was for my Galaxy S23 Ultra and I paid full price on Amazon for both of these cases for my personal use. When I preordered my Pixel 9 Pro XL, I was really happy to see the same case I had before also available for my new phone. I found my first case on Amazon when looking for a case to fit all my criteria. It has to look good, not be bulky, offer sufficient protection from drops, fit the phone well, and have a strong Magsafe magnet. The case fit all of my criteria perfectly and the ability to use the magnet as a kickstand was an added bonus and something I realized I am happy to have the ability to do. After using my new case for a week, it still looks like new and I've found it is even better than my previous case. The case fitment is perfect, it is not loose or too tight on the phone and the cutouts for the screen, camera, buttons, and ports are perfect. The case works perfectly with a tempered glass screen protector and glass camera protector as well. The material is great and an improvement from my previous case, the overall construction is sturdy and doesn't flex when in use. The material on the sides where you hold the phone has a very satisfying texture that doesn't feel sticky or slippery in hand. It also looks more durable than my previous as it does not look like it would peel but is still easy to clean. I like that the back of the phone is slightly translucent to show off which color phone you have, I believe it is coated to resist fingerprints and oil. I've dropped my previous phone numerous times without any damage to the phone at all The Magsafe magnet is probably the selling point of this case as it is really strong and can be used as a stand. I put my phone on a Magsafe charger in my car when I drive and it has never fallen off. I use the stand more than I thought I would as it has been useful for watching content while doing chores, video calls, or even as a tripod for photos. This case is an improvement over my previous one as the magnet can now be turned 360 degrees for more adjustability of the stand in height or angle. I've used cases of all brands and types for all my previous phones but these have been my favorite yet, I don't think you could go wrong if you're looking for the same things in a case as me.

High quality, well-built case with a super handy ring stand!
I really like this case and would highly recommend it to others. It isn't perfect, but I do think the pros far outweigh the cons. Up to this point, I've only used TPU cases for my phones because I don't like the weight or thickness that heavy-duty cases add. I assumed that this case might be bulky to accommodate the ring stand, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out it barely added any thickness or weight compared to a TPU case. I don't have any MagSafe accessories, so I can't review how good the magnets are. It does stick to my fridge though! Pros: + 360 spin ring is incredibly useful, both for propping your phone up, and to help with 1-handed use + The spin ring is completely flush with the back of the case when not in use, so it doesn't catch on anything + The hinge is stiff so it stays at whatever angle you set it to + The spin mechanism has a notch at each 90ยฐ rotation which helps to easily line the stand up for portrait or landscape every time. There's also a very satisfying click when the ring locks into one of those notches + The case feels very sturdy & well built - I feel confident that it'll protect my phone if it takes an unexpected drop + The case fits so snug that I feel like it's a part of my phone, rather than a case I added to it + Buttons still feel just as clicky with the case on as they do with the case off (some TPU cases make the buttons feel mushy) + The sides have a nice, grippy texture + The Quick Tap gesture (double tap on the back of the phone) is very responsive because of the hard back + The camera cutout has slight raised edges so you know you can safely set the phone on its back without damaging the camera bar itself Cons: - The back of the case is a smooth, hard plastic, and is very slippery - The cutout for the USB-C port is not wide enough for some cables. I tried connecting my phone to a Dell USB-C dock, but the case prevents the cable from plugging the cable into the phone (it would connect if the cutout was just a little wider) - The notch to open the ring stand pretty much requires a fingernail. It's too small to open with just the base of your finger - There's a small gap all the way around the camera bar (enough to fit a fingernail in). I didn't think this will cause any damage to the camera necessarily, but I do have concerns that this will eventually let dust & dirt get between the phone and the case (which can lead to scratches) - The edges around the screen are a little too raised & stiff. This can sometimes make it difficult to tap the edges of the screen itself. I use gesture navigation & had to increase the sensitivity since I was having difficulty hitting the edges reliably with the case on. High sensitivity did fix this for my use - The case is a bit rigid & takes more effort than I expected to put it on and take off. Wishlist for future revisions: * Extend the grippy texture from the sides to the back of the case to make it easier to hold 1-handed * Make the USB-C port wider to accommodate larger cables * Make the notch at the top of the ring just a little taller so you can open it with more than just a fingernail * Lower the left and right edges of the case around the screen, but keep the top & bottom raised. This would protect the screen when face down, but allow easier access to the left & right edges of the screen. * Add a different texture to the power button so it's easier to differentiate from the volume buttons

Actually quite solid after extended use.
Edit 2: Just under a year later, and this thing is still working perfectly with no issues. I also got used to it, and while I still can't use wireless charging in my car with the case on, I can use it for tap to pay just fine after figuring out the placement. So while the other issues are still present, this is absolutely worth the price. Edit: So they did offer me a full refund on the case due to the issues I had with it, which is nice, but not the reason I'm increasing my review from 3* to 5*. They actually specifically said in the message to *not* increase the rating based on the refund. The reason I'm increasing my rating is that they were actually interested in my feedback and not only gave their rationale for the specific issues I brought up after asking their R&D team about it, but also were appreciative of the feedback and stated they'd work on the issues in future production. That sort of humble dedication to improve is quite rare to see these days, and I'm hoping that with the refund given I'll be able to buy a future model that resolves the issues in this one. Also, the stand is still fine for now, hasn't broken yet. For the price of this case, I think it has too many problems. The case itself looks nice and feels tough enough, though I luckily haven't had to test it against a drop just yet. I do see that people have been commenting about it being too slippery, but I actually disagree with that complain completely. The material on the *back* is slippery, but the material on the *sides, top and bottom* is using a slightly textured, grippy material. The sides, top, and bottom are the main points of contact for holding a phone...I hope people aren't trying to hold it by placing their fingers on the flat back of it. I think the back being smooth is actually a positive, and the grippy material does slightly wrap around to the back all along the outer perimeter of it, giving a bit of grip on flat surfaces too. The issues I've run into, however, are that the camera does not actually fit snugly in the camera cutout. The cutout is too large for the camera, and also positioned slightly too high, leaving a visible gap all the way around the entire camera where dust, debris, and/or spills could easily get inside the case and just be stuck in there. The gap is also larger at the top, above the camera cutout, so it's not even even across the whole thing. The magsafe component appears to block the use of NFC entirely, as the NFC works fine on my phone without the case, but won't work at all once the case is on it. This means I can't quickly transfer contacts or small files, and also can't use tap to pay with my phone, which is a major downside. That smooth back material also smudges with fingerprints quite badly. Finally, the magnetic ring is also quite hard to open with just one hand on the device when you don't really have long fingernails. One of the main uses of a pop-socket, which this is emulating, is being able to grab it with one hand and have a good grip, so that's a bit failure in design as well. I do like the ring otherwise, particularly as a stand. However, the ring is already starting to feel quite tight in its ability to turn and move, so I'm worried that it's going to fail sooner than later. For the time being I'm still going to use the cover as it's what I have, and overall it's a fine cover. That said, if the ring does end up failing on it, I'll be changing to a 1 star review and returning it.

Shows fingerprints that are stubborn to remove too easily
I was looking for a case for my Pixel 9 Pro XL that would sturdily support vertical (portrait) and horizontal (landscape) standing. This was my first ring-stand phone. Some of what I didn't like is on me, and there are no stars detracted for that. It's the other issues that do detract stars. I will say what I liked, first: The case really made me feel confident in the phone's protection without there being any gimmicky extra layers and different colored inserts inside. I do occasionally (to the order of 1-2 times a year) drop my phone. Usually from a height of 4 feet max. This case felt like it could comfortably survive that. The ring stand was super versatile. I'm certain just about every other review (except maybe the one with the bent ring) will corroborate this. Though I've only used it for a few days, the hinge mechanism was pretty robust. This is one of the 'this is on me' parts: My old non-ring kickstand on my non-Pixel 9 Pro XL phone, I could use the phone with the kickstand out and hardly noticed it was out. With the ring, it was noticeable to the point of hindering. Again, that's on me - I'm not used to ring stands like this. But the hinge seemed solid, the ring folded up with a satisfying snap, and it was no effort at all to pull it out/ down. Another thing that's on me: I apparently didn't read/ understand the listing enough to realize that you can't slap a Magsafe charger on the back unless the ring is stowed upgright. I'm not sure why I thought I could use the Magsafe charger while the phone was standing - It's the main reason I got both this case and the Magsafe charger. But, no stars deducted. This was consumer error. The side buttons are nice. Very clicky, and they don't protrude to the point there they hurt my thumb. I use the Kindle app on my phone, and I use the volume buttons to turn pages. In the past, that eventually led to thumb pain (you know, like when you are button mashing on a console game and eventually your thumbs feel like hamburger? That was happening just from reading an e-book!). I've comfortably read for hours at a time, far beyond my earlier 'thumb starting to hurt' limit, with zero thumb pain. My biggest issue is with their claim of the case being oleophobic. I've found nothing further from the truth. After just 2 days of use, the back of the case looked like I was fingerpainting on the case using vegetable oil. I get that - Sometimes, the screen shows fingerprints as well. I have an oleophobic tempered glass overlay. But here is the difference: With the screen, I can grab the phone, give it a swipe on my shirt or my pants, and there's no evidence of fingerprints. With the case, I've tried the shirt, the pants, a brand new paper towel...Nothing removes the prints completely. The paper towel managed to smear the oils around until the back of the case acquired an overall sheen it didn't have before. It took me using a paper towel dampened with my LCD screeen cleaner to get rid of that. And even then, the section inside the ring required extra attention. I am NOT looking for that level of maintenance in my case. I wish they had made the back translucent so that it would have been barely noticeable, or not noticeable at all. But as it stands, it's like the back is made of velvet and any kind of pressure leaves a lasting impression. The other, less serious issue, is the fact that the case doesn't feel very grippy in my hand. This is to the point where if my hand is even a little bit damp (shower, washing dishes by hand, etc), I dry my hands off to an inordinate degree, because I feel like if I don't, the phone is going to slip out of my hand. I know it has military-grade drop protection, but I am going to do everything in my power to not test that on a thousand dollar phone. The case may fit in your lifestyle. I know that my main objection is cosmetic. But in all seriousness, is it unreasonable to want your expensive phone to not look like you rubbed all over the back of it with fast food fries - even when you had had no greasy/ oily foods before touching the case? My search continues.
