Fun drone, easy to fly, even for a newb
I had no experience trying to fly a drone prior to getting this Simrex x800 drone toy. The tldr - I'm hooked. I spent a few minutes examining the user's manual, which is brief but thorough enough. Pairing the remote, and installing and connecting the app were very straightforward. Flying was a breeze, in particular thanks to the optional "auto" modes for takeoff and landing. One button press, and the drone starts and hovers at about 1 meter. When you press the auto-land function, it gently sets itself down. Once lifted, the remote has controls to raise/lower, turn left/right, move forward/backward/left/right. After a few minutes, it's pretty easy to get the hang of. The photos and videos this drone takes are great - actually much better quality than I was expecting, given the price of the drone. One note: when you read in the description that it has an "adjustable 90-degree camera lens", that's true. However, you adjust it while you're holding the drone in your hand. While in flight, there's no remote control function to change the camera angle. That's probably obvious to more experienced fliers, but it wasn't to me. The battery life felt short to me...but you really do get the ~20 minutes they advertise. The problem is, it's so much fun to fly, that it *feels* like 5 minutes! It's no wonder you you don't get more time - the battery is necessarily feather-light. Have no fear however. Since Simrex includes two batteries, you can be charging one while flying with the other! Another nice touch is that Simrex also included a number of spare prop blades. I assume this is the part most often lost or damaged in a crash. So far I haven't needed a spare, but I'm glad they are included. Bottom line is this toy is loads of fun, and I can't wait to get it outside more. Snow has arrived where I live, and I'll probably wait until we get a little warmer weather before taking it outside again. I see that as I write this, there's an associated $10 coupon. I felt like it was a great deal when I got it, but at almost 20% less, it that much better. So much fun for so little money!

Great drone with video for this price point
My husband who is experienced with drones and has a fleet of them for his technology students also tested this alongside me who had little drone experience. First we both appreciate they give replacement parts, and extra battery with charging cord(you supply the charging box), tiny screwdriver, and a phone mount and good directions for operating the drone with the controller. When operating with the controller I experienced no issues in learning how to fly one for the first time. My husband who is experienced felt it was a pretty good drone for the price point when using the controller. When we switched to the phone as a controller in order to utilize the 1080p camera, we had issues with it disconnecting from the app from time to time. However, when it's connected it works well with pretty good video quality once you learn how to use the controls via your phone. I think with a bit more practice I would really enjoy and improve my skills. He would definitely recommend it but would like to see improved app. I will be gifting this to a middle school age kid and think he's really going to enjoy it. He's had a very small cheaper drone but wanted one with video capabilities. This is a good starting point. This thing is VERY durable because I flew it outside(it can fly as high as many tree tops) and hit trees, buildings and limbs in my first few attempts. It definitely took some hard hits and didn't scratch or break.

Perfect Starter Drone for Kids and Beginners!
I purchased this drone as a gift for my nephew, and it has been a massive hit! Here’s why: • Camera Quality: The 1080P camera is surprisingly clear for the price. It captures decent photos and videos, perfect for a beginner drone enthusiast. • Ease of Use: The one-key start and headless mode make it incredibly easy for kids (and adults!) to fly. No confusing controls – it’s intuitive and user-friendly. • Features Galore: The waypoint fly and 3D flip features are exciting and fun! Watching it perform flips is thrilling, especially for younger users. • Safety & Stability: The altitude hold function keeps the drone steady in the air, which is great for learning the ropes without worrying about sudden crashes. • Durable: It has survived a few hard landings already and still works like a charm – very durable and beginner-friendly. Overall, this drone is an excellent value for the price. Whether you’re buying for a child or an adult looking to explore the world of drones, this is a fantastic choice! Highly recommend!

Great starter drone
In my testing of this drone, even inside of the house, it’s able to stay within a 1 square foot area while hovering. If you get too close to a wall, the draft will make it unstable, however. In my use, I flew it probably around 200 feet high and around 800 feet from where I was standing. One of my favorite features is being able to control the drone from the perspective of the controller rather than the direction. The drone is facing this made it significantly easier as an inexperienced drone user. It says that the battery will last for around 15 minutes, however I had slightly longer fly time than that. There is no warning for when the battery runs out. It kind of just slowly goes down to the ground wherever it is. The picture quality on this is fairly poor. I would say it’s something around 480 however it is listed as 1080. There is an app that you connect to allow you to see through the drone. However, the app itself is a fairly poor quality, but it does work and function. Well the user interface is just not up-to-date with most other companies at this point. Overall, for the price, this is a fantastic starter drone. It allowed me to get used to flying one and certainly makes me want to purchase a higher end one at some point in the future. This would be great for anyone starting out.

Fun for the whole family!
I recently bought the SIMREX X800 drone for my young nephew for Christmas, and it’s been an absolute hit! This drone strikes the perfect balance between fun and functionality, making it an excellent choice for beginners of all ages. My nephew, who’s new to drones, quickly got the hang of the controls thanks to its intuitive design and simple setup process. Watching him confidently fly it and pull off 360° flips has been so rewarding, it’s clear this drone was made with young users in mind. What surprised me even more is how much fun I’ve had with it as an adult! The SIMREX X800 is not just a toy, it’s also a fantastic entry level drone for adults looking to get into flying. The headless mode, one-key takeoff/landing, and altitude hold features make it easy for anyone to start, even if you’ve never touched a drone before. It’s a great way for parents, aunts, or uncles like me to bond with their kids while learning a new skill. The stability during flight is remarkable for such a compact and lightweight drone, and its foldable design makes it incredibly convenient to carry around. My nephew loves taking it to the park, and I’ve even taken it for a spin myself. The battery life is solid for its price range, and having an extra battery on hand means the fun can last even longer. Whether you’re buying it for a child, a teenager, or even an adult who wants to learn the basics of drone flying, the SIMREX X800 is an incredible choice. It’s affordable, durable, and delivers so much value for its price. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable starter drone that’s fun for the whole family!

Great for Beginners Learning to Fly
Bought this unit as a starter drone for my grandson (age 7). I wanted to teach him how to properly fly a drone without putting my DJI unit at risk. This nice little unit met that need quite nicely. The included remote is shaped like a game controller, so no learning curve required (for him). Drone connects easily to the controller. Battery life/flight time is not long (around 10 minutes), but two batteries are included so a quick battery change allows for the fun to continue. Battery recharge time is less than an hour using the included charging cable and a standard USB charging brick (not included). Overall, the drone's flight characteristics are good and it responds well. It hovers well and is very stable, even in light winds. The one-touch take-off and landing button made things easy. Camera quality is much better than I expected for an inexpensive drone. The app worked perfectly on my iPhone and offered easy connection to the drone via wifi. Overall, this is a great little drone for teaching kids how to fly and it's a great value.

Excelente pero la bateria dura demasiado poco, no dura 5 minutos.
Muy buen dron para los niños lo malo es que la batería solo dura como 5 minutos.

Smiles from all the kids!
This review is based on the sale price. Please do not compare it to a $2k pro rig. Out of the box we had to top off the batteries which is expected. Pairing was straight forward but this one didn't respond to the take off commands at first. These little overgrown honey bees all have slight variations on take off/landing commands. The instructions were pretty clear but after a few tries and restarts it responded fine. Flying inside is fine but outside it will struggle in the wind. It does a really good job of stabilizing itself though. There's always a little drift but it's still manageable. I even ran it into a few small tree branches to see how well it would correct and I'm very surprised. It will keep itself in the air just fine accept when it finds a wall or curtain. The camera feature works but again do not compare it to a pro rig. It made the kids smile and since there's 2 batteries you can be sure they are bored of playing with it before the batteries die. The flip/roll function is funny. It's a pre programed maneuver. That being the case I would not recommend doing it inside. I come from the build it and race it yourself background and tight flips and rolls are easy but this is different. It's fun but just be warned. I can not report on it's range as it's almost always windy here and I don't have a way to track this little thing if it were to get away. I can say that it will do 100 years pretty easy with a direct line of site. I'm in a ver rural area and don't have to compete with radio interference. Fly safe!
