After years of trying to cut reasonably uniform slices of my weekly sourdough loaves without much success with bread knives and bow saws, I finally broke down and bought this machine. The first time out of the box it worked amazingly well, effortlessly sawing off perfect, uniform slices of bread set to the thickness that I chose, just like the photo in the ad shows. Apart from a few breadcrumbs to knock off and wipe up when you're done, there is no mess to clean up. It comes with two wrenches for keeping screw and bolt tensions correct on the base and the sliding thickness plate. The circular blade is fastened with a Phillips head screw. Simple and effective. Aiding in its flawless bread slicing are its four suction cups at its base. Their suction power is incredible to the point of being difficult to break free when you’re finished. I slipped a dull butter knife under them to pry them from our countertop. Needless to say, the machine did not move an iota during operation. The machine’s design and functioning are excellent, and its overall build quality is good and sufficient to its purpose. The wood and paint are attractively finished. A word of caution: the last slice of bread gets your guiding hand very close to the sharp blade. I’m going to use a cut-proof kitchen glove from now on. My wife took a short video of me making a perfect slice the first time, but for some reason it would not upload. Too bad!

Love my bread slicer, be careful the blade is sharp. Strong grip no worries about it moving while using it. Love that you could adjust the thickness of the cut you want. Easy to clean very durability great value. Makes slicing bread easy. Love it!

I have been looking at bread slicers and finally chose to buy this and give it a try. I took a loaf of sourdough rye bread to a group dinner tonight along with my newly arrived slicer. Everyone loved the slicer! My husband stated he loves it and considers it an heirloom kitchen item. It is seriously that smooth and that good! Everyone at the dinner took turns trying it. Seriously happy I bought this! The slices are uniform, can adjust the thickness of the slices, it cuts so easily!

I've used this several times for about a month to cut sourdough and it works very well. Yes, you have to guide the bread through, but it's a manual bread slicer. The grip works and comes off great. The only tiny downside is that one you get about halfway through a loaf, those slices start to get unevenly cut at the end of the slice; even when I do my best to guide it straight (I wish I could give 4.5 stars).

Good for the price point. Cuts the bread well. The suction never works for me, which makes it extremely difficult to use, slides all over the counter. Great product slicer if I have someone hold it while I slice.

Slices sourdough bread effortlessly and cleanly! The only issue is that it squeaks a little and it can be challenging to get an even, thin slice once you get to the end of the loaf, but it sure beats using a bread knife!

I bought this bread slicer in May 2025. I have used it maybe 15 times in that time period. I feel like the blade is OK and slice is fine. The suction cups do not stick so I had to rig up a piece of board to put against the wall to kind of hold it in place as I am slicing. And the last time I used it today, the handle came off. The crank is still on there to turn it, but the part where I would hold to turn, the crank is broken and there’s absolutely no way to fix it. I feel like for $60. It definitely should’ve lasted more than 15 uses. I am very disappointed. I did like how uniform the slices were and how well those turned out, but with the handle being broken and also not suctioning to the counter, it was not easy to use and not worth the money.

Verdict: Practical, consistent, and a great value—finally a slicer that works as advertised.

My best friend gifts me fancy sourdough all the time, so I gifted her this for her birthday! She LOVES it so much!!

The slicer cuts well but the suction cups are not very strong and the slicer moves around while you’re cutting.

Was excited to receive this product. Disappointed to be honest. The most important parts of this product are the suction cups to ensure it remains secured to the counter when in use. The suction cups didn't hold the product down. It moved around while cutting my loaf. I was trying to hold down the device with my hand while cutting.

Absolutely love this cutter! Never again will my bread have huge variations in thickness. Works very well with nice sourdough breads. Be careful as softer breads will have a bit of an issue with cutting even slices.
