Great for weighing those Great catches you want to know the exact weight of. Also grips and holds the fish securely by the mouth. Haven't had a fish come off yet. Only issue I've noticed is when u first turn it on you need to make sure ur holding it by the gripped handle or the digital screen and keep it vertical without moving it. It can take a few moments to calibrate once u turn it on if you are moving it around in ur hand causing u to either turn it off and try again or stand still hoping it will calibrate. But overall it's accurate and holds fish of nearly any size securely. Mainly used for weighing small/large mouth bass, perch and anything else I can safely grab properly by its jaw. Glad I purchased and when it eventually fails will buy again.

For the most part, it's a good scale. The hand grip is awesome, and the fish/lip gripper is well designed and works great. On the negative side it is slightly inaccurate, and slightly hard to turn on and off. The wrist strap is kind of awkward. That's that. Don't use this for tournament or records or anything that requires extreme precision.

Works well! Really like the metal grabber clasp/pincher which secures the lip of the fish and holds tight. No need to pierce the mouth of fish as other handheld weighted require.

Product worked great but met an early demise! So this is my fishing story. The one I tell everyone. I caught a big rock bass out of Lake Erie. Huge. Huuuuge. I had to get the weight. So after I landed the fish, I clipped this bad boy on to get weight. As soon as I clipped it on, the bass went super saiyan and escaped my grasp. It jumped into the water with the scale still attached to it's lip. I wept as I watched it disappear under the surface with my scale in it's mouth. Luckily a neighboring fisherman with a long net was able to help me retrieve this bad boy and the fish. It still worked after being submersed for about 10 minutes. Durable, great price, good value.

The functionality and concept of this fish scale is great as the gripper is solid enough to grab and hold big stripers but the scale is all over the place. It can be as big as almost a 3 lb swing. After a season and a half using it I decided to test it weighing a 15lb dumbbell. I tried 4 attempts and it was 13.4 lbs, 16.2lb,15.4 lbs, and 16.2 lbs. I probably won’t be continuing to use this again and just get something more trustworthy like a bubba or rapala.

I love this thing so much! First time to have such a gripper comes with a fish scale. This is sturdy and tough. Stainless steel jaws feel with high quality. Up to 60lbs weigh power, that blast over my mind. My favorite feature of this gripper is the waterproof design with its scale. They claimed that the scale can hold up 5 minutes when dopped into water. It is enough since I will not let it sink in the water for 5 minutes. I want it back instantly, lol Want to weigh your fish at night? Then you find the right one, when you push the Power switch for a few seconds, it will light the reading screen which can help you read the numbers at dark situation. Well made item which works perfectly as described. However the lanyard seems to be an afterthought in the design. An actual hole or clip to attach a lanyard would have been a better option.

Works as expected only used once since I bought it at the end of season. Tested it with a 10 lbs weight weighed 1ounce off .

Have been using a fish lip gripper like this one for three years. Lost it when releasing a 43 inch Musky as the fish thrashed. These devices make handling large fish much easier on the fish when removing lure hooks. I like this unit because it has a digital scale. I'm not sure how well the wrist band will work out since it doesn't have a dedicated anchoring lug, but time will tell.
