Relatively easy to install, works great
My LAN modem is on the second floor. Wireless signal strength on the first floor and basement was always poor. This unit raised the signal strength on the first floor from "poor" to "excellent" for both my laptops and mobile phones. The unit was not difficult to install but I could not make the setup happen using my mobile phone -- the email that was supposed to arrive after I created a login never arrived, even after multiple re-transmit requests. When I switched from my mobile phone (android) to my desktop the email arrived promptly. One note if you are going to use this unit, When you want to connect a device to the extended LAN you use your LAN password, not the tp-link password you created for setup. Overall I had the unit up and working in about 40 minutes. I would recommend this unit for extending household LANs

Great Product
Great product ..works exactly as advertised. Be sure to follow the directions when setting it up. Hold it near your router and press the correct button on the back of the router. My TP-Link Router has 3 buttons on the back. They are each labeled, but the labels are hard to read... even with a flashlight and a magnifying glass. It took me several tryst to find the correct button. But when I used the correct button, everything worked like a charm! It would be nice if TP-Link would include a little drawing that called out what each button was for.

Spotty at times
I needed to get some more signal in my detached garage and my router was located in the house. Moving the router to a closer location was not an option so I looked for a wifi extender and came upon this. It worked great about 90% of the time. The issue came that at time the signal would just drop and my computer would have no internet while it tried to reconnect to the network. This can get old real fast. Honestly having slower internet consistently is a better option than having no internet at the most inopportune times.

Great for what I wanted.
Decent range extender. I got a refurb with hardware version 1, so I can not update the system with the opensource firmware I wanted BUT the firmware it has is sufficient for what I needed and works well. I wanted a range extender for my shop with a ethernet port so I could build a small LAN for all my gadgets that might need internet for updating and such. My modem/wifi router is in my house and can not be moved or my wife and kids would feed me to the neighbors dogs. The house is about 50ft away but plenty of walls in way so running a cable is not feasible and buying a wireless router with more power is not a reality no matter what the advertisements say. (5gh is 5ghz, and the FCC regulates power output to be certified) So I needed a range extender AP that could dual band bond, and provide dhcp on the ethernet port. This unit fits the bill and does what I need. The setup webpage is easy enough to use, and I like that you can duplicate the ssid of your regular router with the same password OR set each band to a different SSID and password. For me that was great as I keep things separate.

An extender does not need to be defaulted as a DHCP gateway!!
This product is absolute garbage. Please do yourself a favor and heed my warning. I used my iMac, macOS Catalina, to connect to the extender and set it up. This was using the wifi connection, since the built-in Gigabit port on the extender wasn't enabled yet. I am NOT stupid, and I know how to set up computer networks. I was able to get the extender to connect on the 2.4 and 5ghz bandwidths from my router, but I could not get any devices to have internet access when connected through the extender back to my router. I began to investigate and noticed that in the settings this extender has a DEFAULT DHCP server enabled. WHY??? My router is the DHCP server, and only it should hand out IP addresses. This option should only be enabled when you choose to set the extender up as a Wireless Access Point. I disabled this stupid setting, rebooted both the router and the extender, but still had no internet access. I definitely received IP addresses from the router, through the extender, back to connected devices. I eventually connected the Gigabit port to my iMac's LAN port as a final test. This was my undoing...I did not have internet access this way either, so I rebooted my iMAc. Upon reboot neither the wifi card nor the LAN card could make a connection. I turned off the extender and attempted to connect to my router via the iMac's wifi. Nothing. Network Utility showed nothing. No IP, no connection. I rebooted the iMac into recovery mode and Network Utility made a solid connection. So now I'm kicking the table, because the network cards work in Recovery, but not in the OS. Booting back into the OS, and nothing. I flushed the DNS cache more times than I can remember. I reset NVRAM. I rebooted more times. Nothing. THIS PIECE OF JUNK BROKE MY IMAC NETWORKING!! My last ditch effort was to reboot back into recovery and restore from a Time Machine backup. The backup utility said it would take 4-5 hours to complete....I said a small prayer and went to bed. The next morning my iMac was connected back to my router, and working fine. Seriously reader, do not buy this, especially if you have a Mac.

Second device bought. Work perfectly to repeat wifi signal all over the house without fault. Works also to send wifi to a different floor of the villa. Used for many months and i never got disappointed. Also easy to install

Recently replaced a very old Linksys router (which I loved) with a TP-Link WiFi 6 router in the hopes of addressing an issue with my iPad Pro constantly losing WiFi signal in a bedroom which is the farthest room away from the office where the router lives. While the new router was fast and strong enough to get signal to most of the devices in the house, for some reason the iPad would still constantly be interrupted and drop signal. Purhcased this refurbished TP-Link AC1750 WiFi extender in the hopes that putting it in an area where I had stronger WiFi would solve the problem. BOY DID IT EVER. Not only did this extender allow me to keep the devices all connected to the same SSID (I didn't like the idea of having to hop to different SSID's depending on where I was in the house) but the WiFi signal was full bars and very strong with the iPad in the room I needed it and the throughput even with my VPN was 90+MBPS down in 7+MBPS up. More than enough for what I need. Installation and configuration was an absolute BREEZE. I am well versed in router and home level network administration but even without that experience I have no doubt that with the included Quick Start guide that anyone would be able to figure this out. As long as you know your current WiFi password and SSID (network / router name) you will have no problem. My only regret is that I didn't make this purchase way sooner since I would have saved myself so many nights of frustration trying to keep a stable connection on my iPad when I'm using it in the bedroom. If you need a WiFi extender, buy it. You won't regret it and saving some money on refurbished which comes with the same warranty and return policies is a no brainer.
