There are lots to say about this puzzle. Firstly Ravensburger make excellent quality puzzles and this one is no different. But they are not quite as good as Schmidt which I think have the edge on the whole market. Quality - this puzzle is made with beautifully thick sturdy card and has excellent interlocking lugs which do not come apart easily (in fact it’s just taken me 20 minutes to painstaking take the puzzle apart for re-boxing!) The lugs are a snug fit and there’s so much variety in the shape of pieces and size of puzzle lugs that it’s very easy to know when a piece is right or not. The picture colour is vibrant and bright but there’s no gloss coating... In fact it has an anti-glare quality so it can be worked from all angles even with an overhead direct light-source. On the not so great side, the puzzle had two pieces where the picture paper was a little unglued from the lug, there were 4 (or so) pieces not fully die-cut causing a bit of blue paper that needed tearing out of the lug gap and there was rather more puzzle ‘lint’ in the box than the manufacturer would suggest, none of which warrant any loss of stars in my mind. The puzzle itself arrived with exactly the right 1000 pieces and I’ve never had any issues with ravensburger missing (or having extra) pieces, unlike other manufacturers. This particular puzzle is less challenging to complete than most, possibly because the subject matter is so distinctive and identifiable. But that makes it a great puzzle for all the family to enjoy. The adults can sort the pieces into groups and the children can set off putting together the little cameo pieces while the adults and older children do the larger panels. The only slight challenge was working out the two sections for the lion king and jungle book as the colourways and styling was similar but I still wouldn’t say it was in anyway difficult. The biggest difficulty is sifting the volume of pieces, not assembling them. The edges/frame itself is two rows of puzzle pieces deep and the most helpful and perhaps extraordinary tip I can offer is pick these all out and set them aside til last. I ALWAYS start a new puzzle with the straight edges and work in, this puzzle quite uniquely is one where you really have to start in the centre and work out to keep it manageable. I found the boarder I did first just got totally in the way and wish I’d been advised to work middle-out. Hope this review helps.
