Gorilla Waterproof Patch & Seal Rubberized Sealant Paste, 12.8 oz Can

Product arrived on time as promised; ez to use on my aluminum roof where had some overlaps and worried about water intrusion; applied with slim putty scraper, worked great.

I don't know what the shelf life of this stuff is, but this had more than a quarter inch dry crust all the way around it. It was shaped in the can like a white Hershey kiss, and hard all around. I broke through it to see if any of it was usable, found about a half a cup usable. I didn't get the job finished with such a tiny amount. Not a good value! I use Gorilla glue almost every day and it is the best! Not so with this.

It was dry around the edges but actually it works well for what I needed it for. If you leave the unopened can in the sun for a bit it will soften up. I’ll buy more if needed. Time will tell as to how it holds up.

Update 7 Oct 2024: I visited the gorilla tough website and discovered that their email and chat interfaces DO NOT WORK. I made time to call their 800 number and finally reached a rep. The Gorilla Tough rep asked for the number on the bottom of the can, so make sure you can read at least the first 5 digits. Therein, the rep provided me with a very generous credit, wherein, I had my choice of Home Depot, Walmart, or Amazon. He said they would also send an envelope, so I could ship it back to them for examination. The paste is a failure, but when you finally reach a rep, the company makes up for it! I trusted Gorilla Glue products up until now. When I first opened the container, I noticed the product was very stiff. Not knowing the consistency to expect - and trusting the brand from other Gorilla Glue products I've used in the past, I still maintained trust in this "Gorilla Paste" for some reason. Over the course of a month, it became more difficult to use. About 6 weeks later, it was nothing but a hard lump of rubber as you see in the pic. I did manage to use it in a few places wherein it definitely sealed some cracks, but I didn't get my money's worth.

This worked well for sealing a wide crack for me. A couple things to be aware of if you haven't used it before... - It's murder to work with. Super sticky, and doesn't budge easily. Which is what you want, but ffs wear gloves, and use a putty knife you won't mind throwing away - The can comes half full. I'm sure it meets the 1lb net weight as advertised, but it's dense, so if you're eyeballing the can size to decide how much you need, get more. Otherwise, super easy to use, and gets the job done

Application: The product is exactly what it claims to be—a thick, rubberized paste. It has the consistency of thick peanut butter, which is ideal for bridging small cracks, filling gaps, and coating larger areas where movement or weathering is an issue. I applied it using a stiff disposable brush and a putty knife, spreading it evenly across the problematic area. Be warned: it's messy, so wear gloves and keep mineral spirits nearby for cleanup. Since I chose the white color, it blended decently with the trim, though it definitely dries with a noticeably rubberized, textured finish, not a smooth, paint-grade look.

I've had luck with previous gorilla products and this works too...

Clear paste applies over any surface. I will only know if it works if the cracks in my concrete widen with time.
