What's the difference between the zbmini and the zbmini-L?

The zbmini-L is for older homes without a neutral wire. The zbmini requires a neutral wire.

Does it work and connect to tuya zigbee hub? or a sonoff zigbee hub is a must

Do these function as zigbee repeaters for the mesh network since they are powered?

Yes. I use one to bridge/repeat between devices that are too far from the gateway.

Can this be used with a dimmable light?

This unit is not a dimmer, it will power the light at full brightness but will not dim it.
