These earbuds have very good audio in general, with typical JBL somewhat bass-heavy sound. However, the equalizer function's customizability easily compensates for the coloration. Other features include Ambient Noise Cancelling, spatial audio with optional head tracking, a smart charging case with touchscreen controls for nearly all features, a companion mobile device app with controls for all features, the case can be used as a transmitter to get the sound to the earbuds from non-Bluetooth devices with audio out via USB (A or C) or ⅛ inch (3.5 mm) headphone jack, or anything that can be adapted to one of those. Buds are capable of receiving Auracast audio. You can also listen to your tracks in high-resolution LDAC audio at 24 bits & 96 kHz. The only major features that I've seen elsewhere, that the Tour Pro 3 lack is a case that doubles as a Bluetooth speaker or a power bank. But honestly, does anyone really want to carry that extra weight around with the earbuds all the time? I already have a power bank and several Bluetooth speakers. I only carry them around when I reasonably expect to want or need them. However, I found the experience of using the buds for the first time less than satisfying. The main reason for replacing my previous earbuds was declining battery life. But though they were inexpensive (brand 233621, model Zen), they had what I now realize to be excellent broad-spectrum ANC. The Tour Pro 3, in contrast, even at their maximum ANC setting, allow quite a lot of high-frequency noise through that the Zen cancel. This was quite noticeable and annoying while vacuuming the house. I expect better from a flagship product of a well-known brand such as Harman/JBL. If I hadn't gotten them at the Cyber Monday discount with the help of a gift card that covered half the cost I would definitely be returning them and getting something else. I have read elsewhere that the Tour Pro 3's 360 Spatial Audio is also lackluster, but having nothing to compare it to, I can't say much about it. Head tracking seems to work as expected when enabled, moving sounds from center to left or right as I move my head, but the spatial effect is minimal for me. I'm one of those for whom headphones and earbuds nearly exclusively produce sound that seems to come from inside my head on a line between my ears. Without head tracking, the Tour Pro 3's spatial audio adds fullness and extension so sounds hard-panned left and right (or nearly so) seem to come from outside my head, and those from nearer the center of the stereo image seem to be slightly forward and less sharply defined, but still inside my head. Using headphones or earbuds, I've never heard any effect that made the sounds seem to emanate realistically from somewhere in front of me. It's likely that I never will, just because of how my ears and brain are. Verdict: I'll keep them, but if I had known in advance how weak the Tour Pro 3's ANC was, I would have chosen another brand & model.

Build quality is better than Airpod pros and so is the sound if you use the EQ in the app that you need to download and kick everything upwords; remember that the vocals which is on the right side of the diagram need to be a bit higher than the lower end or the base which is on the left of the EQ diagram! Where it truly shines is in its spectacular battery life, absolutely amazing. There are some problems though, first they need to make the noise cancellation gesture available along side otheres too, right now it's either play back control or volume control or noise cancellation! You can't have noise cancelation with any other function available side by side in either earpice at same time like other brands do!!! Another one which is the Biggest problem is its shape! It just wants to pop right out of the ear canal all the time no matter what you do, meaning even if you're not moving nor chewing it still wants to come out of the ear canal and one always has to push it back in! Absolutely aweful design!!! Before forgetting also the volume level, it's either too low or too loud there's no inbetween, which they can easily fix it with an update in order to make the volume transition more smoother and in smaller increments, and the sensetivity of the ear pieces are too high the slightest movement will triger them to change! Choose wisely.

After losing my Apple Pro AirPods, I decided to branch out and try something different. I didn’t always care for the fit Apple offered and did months (embarrassed to admit) and months of research before pulling the trigger on the JBL Tour Pro 3. I tried it for a little under a month (I wound up finding my AirPods in an old purse) and returned it before the return window closed. Here’s my take: The price is not at all worth it. I got it during Prime days and scooped it up for $229 which is $100 off the original price. $329 is egregiously high. Fit: I was able to find an appropriate size and it fared well when being active in the gym. Noise Canceling: The noise canceling is subpar to the AirPods. I noticed the difference immediately when I got my AirPods back. I don’t need killer sound because I understand that it’s not healthy. Using it at the gym didn’t always block out the surrounding noise. Ambiance Aware/Talk through: I hated this feature. But to be fair, I don’t like it on Apple either. If I need to converse with someone, I just pause my music. The talk through feature can be pretty sensitive and it can self pause the music. I didn’t dig that. You can turn it off; but the controls on the earphones themselves can be triggered accidentally when adjusting the fit. That was pretty annoying as well. JBL App: You need to download the app and change the earphone settings from the app. Although I like the customization you can do, the earphones had to be connected to the phone in order to customize. Smart Charging Case: It was cute to have that interface, but I didn’t use it like I thought I would. It wasn’t as intuitive as expected. The charge lasted 3 days before having to charge the case. Microphone: A big factor that led to my return was the microphone quality. Callers often said I sounded like a robot or they would hear their own echo. This was a big gripe for me as I needed this feature to work. Overall, I would NOT purchase these again. Finding my Apple AirPods took me off the market for new earphones. However, the next time I’m looking to purchase some, I think I would try the Jabra 10 Elites or later depending when I buy. That was the other pair of earphones I was stuck between. I’m not in love with my Apple AirPods but I do like them more than JBL. I believe since I’m deep in the Apple ecosystem, Apple makes it more difficult for competitors to make a flawless compatible product for their phones. Perhaps the JBL would fare better on an Android.
