I’m writing this review as I toss this bottle in the trash after not needing it for 2 years during spring cleaning. Applied it twice to my 3 year old’s thumb nails only. He didn’t bite his nails, only sucked his thumb. He was ready to drop the habit and was able to stop if he paid attention but subconsciously the thumb was always heading towards his mouth out of habit. This did the trick. It is absolutely disgusting tasting. I would not apply it to very young children who aren’t as able to determine cause and effect. I was about to spend several hundred dollars on weekly behavioral therapy to stop the thumb sucking as recommended by a pediatric dentist. The price of trying this and it working was worth the risk.

I don’t usually write reviews but this worked so well that everyone needs to know about it. My son is 5 and he sucked his 3 fingers on his right hand. It started at daycare when he was about 18mo old. We tried all the things to get him to stop. We would remind him constantly. We tried a finger guard (which he just chewed up). We tried the pens that have the bitter liquid in them, it leaked and it kept causing accidental exposure when he would eat. This made him not want to wear it ever and it was a fight. This nail polish worked great. It didn’t get all over his food when he was eating so he was more compliant with us putting it on. With in two weeks the finger sucking stopped. This nail polish with a sticker chart and we are over two weeks without constant finger sucking!!

My 4 year old had had his nails cut maybe 3 times in his life. Within two days of using this his hands never touched his mouth and within a couple of weeks I am cutting his nails and his cuticles are completely healed. This stuff is gold! Will recommend to anyone!!

Thumb sucking? This nasty polish never heard of it. 10/10 tastes so bad and the taste last so long I only had to apply once. My daughter is 16 months and a comfort sucker, her thumb is so rough and dry due to this I tried gloves first but as soon as the glove came off to clean, the thumb went back in. Downside to this the first day it was so strong and she was trying so hard to suck her thumb she started drooling bc it tasted so bad and eventually threw up a bit because of it. And the taste transferred to cups from her mouth for two days so i kept washing the cups and gave her a wet rag to get the taste out. After that she hesitated to put her thumb in her mouth and a week later her thumb isnt even a thought. She switched to blanks for comfort. Use with caution, apply lightly!
