Does it have to be plugged in to work?

Good question... there are some mini projectors that can be charged and play up to four hours. Unfortunately this one does not.

How can I make the screen bigger? Do I need to move it back more or is there an option to make the screen bigger?

Thanks for your questions. If you need a bigger screen, you need to place the projector farther from the screen or wall. This projector doesn't have zoom function, so you need to adjust the distance between the projector and wall/screen to get a smaller or big image size.

Can i Project it on a plain wall? or does it have to be a Projector Canvas?

if you can use it on a painted wall it looks perfect whenever the room is dark
