One of the best Amazon purchases that I’ve made. I’ve never had an espresso machine before. Did a lot of research. Wanted something that was worth the price. There are a lot of expensive machines out there, but I think this one is a steal. Got it for $200 - included the machine with steam wand, bean grinder, and all the tools you need. I especially love that you can make doubles - much more efficient. I’ve used it every single day for the last 9 months, and it still works just as well as the day I got it. Took a couple of practice tries to learn. The grinder is a bit messy, but what grinder isn’t? Just wipe the counter afterwards. A little loud, but we’ve never had issue - and I have a baby. Fits perfectly on my kitchen counter. Tastes delicious. I actually prefer my homemade coffee to anything else.

The espresso machine is great and easy to use. The coffee grinder works great, but it can make a mess when you clean it.

This probably isn't the end all of espresso machines, but if you're getting started, want to learn, don't mind tinkering a bit to get things right, it's great! The grinder is weird, and I recommend if you're measuring beans by weight do that first, then set your grind/activate it, THEN put your beans in and ground them ALL. You can't restart it once it times out, and you can damage it by adjusting finer which is what you need to do to restart it (twist it all the way counter clockwise let it lift, then rotate it again to your small grind size. I think that's how some people are breaking it. The espresso machine is ok. Thankfully I don't think it makes it to 20 BAR ever, but who knows the gauge isn't labeled with anything useful. It drops an ok shot but leaves the puck wet, and more crema than you should have. You have to really tamp the puck to get close to the right extraction. The wand is good, not sure it's useful for water it takes a long time to add if you're making an Americano. Steam is strong enough for such a small machine, clear it first you'll get water, and let it build before starting. Expect it to take a lot longer but you can get good results with nice microfoam . Putting cups on top to heat them is a we l waste of time. It doesn't get hot up there. I like to fill the reservoir on the machine instead of removing it. It's well placed for that I think. The price was amazing, and if I can get a couple of years out of it I'll be happy honestly. It's a great starter. I don't find it to be very noisy. It's only making noise when you grind or make coffee. It's a short period of time. I just don't think it matters and it's not all that loud anyway.

Best option for a budget espresso machine but hard to get a good clean puck. I haven’t tried upgrading the portafilter but it makes a decent espresso as is. Nice crema and easy to use. The grinder is also spectacular and I have gotten much use out of it.

I got this because my wife has a nesspresso and the pods cost a lot over time. It’s not perfect but very good for the price and for beginner. It’s also pretty compact so it doesn’t take up much space if you don’t have much room for a big machine.

The espresso machine arrived broken out of the box. It will turn on, but the temperature gauge does not change, and instead of waiting for it to heat up, the machine automatically powers off after a few minutes. Honestly, that's only the beginning of the problem - amazon and the manufacturer are the real issue. I initially contacted amazon for product support, went through several tests of the machine with them before concluding that it had an internal heating element failure. Amazon then bounced be over to GEVI the manufacturer for a replacement under warranty. I contacted GEVI, (who's hours on their automatic answering service directly contradict the hours of operation on amazon's website, so contacting them initially takes several attempts) and they said it was Amazon's responsibility to replace because it had been less than thirty days. Fast forward to me banging my head against a wall as I have this same conversation with Amazon/GEVI three more times, and no one will accept responsibility for providing me with a replacement. I flushed a few hundred dollars and several hours down the toilet - don't do the same to yourself.

Does the job. But you can tell it’s cheaply made. Pressure gauge stopped working after a year. Customer service is poor. You get what you pay for.
