Hi It is a good Bluetooth Adopter After using more than one week, here are My opinions about the product, I used for my (Motorola SF520 Moto Surround Wireless Earbud ) and other Bluetooth devices, all are working good Pros: Connectivity - Good Bluetooth range - Good Music quality - Good Cons - Installation issue I faced connectivity issues first time I installed on my PC, iam not able to install successfully I chat with with Kinivo CC team and I did research to fix issue I finally clear the issues and Successfully installed working very good... Thank You

Today i have got the chance to use it as it was delivered to me in the morning. And one word which comes in my mind after using it is fabulous. I am using windows 10 and the product works like a charm. I was in doubt earlier that whether it would support windows 10 completely or not but now i realise that i haven't done anything wrong in purchasing it. Believe me guys it detects immediately my soundpeats QY7 bluetooth earphone which i also purchased from amazon and i have connected few phones also and it is working fully with each and every bluetooth enabled device. The sound is transmitting fluently from my computer to the earphone and the clarity is as perfect as if i am using a wired headphone. So those who are willing to purchase a bluetooth adapter i would say that it is the best in the market. Go blindly and purchase it. You won't regret. The packaging was also good. Make - The look of the product and the feel of the plastic on top is good... not cheap, compared to other Bluetooth dongles. Range - Its standard as they have mentioned in its features.(My Experience 6 meters for portable sound bar in straight line after that sound is crackly...for mobiles n headphones its good to go upto 10mtrs.) Price - Its worth the price this sites offer.(Rs.649 on amazon) Compatibility - If you are looking for dongle that runs good on windows 10 then this device does it. I had one dongle earlier running on windows 10 and connected portable sound bar to the system, after few mins. sound use to go blank all of a sudden, then I had to do few tricks to again listen to music, thought of changing the dongle and found this one, I ordered and plugged the device in USB 3.0 jack and since then all Bluetooth devices connect to the dongle in an instant, without any driver installation on windows 10 it connects just good... I would recommend It.

First off I'll go about the things that are good about it - It uses Broadcom bluetooth drivers, which is a good thing for future updates and wider compatibility, It's small form factor, however I didn't say it's tiny, Good performance, very low latency rate between devices while transmitting data. Now the bad part- It's built quality is cheap, like really cheap, as you could see from the other reviews. You won't believe the knock-off like plastic parts and the way they are being held together. It's like really poor use of glue and will come off without even any big force. So I bought this for my laptop as my inbuilt Qualcomm Bluetooth chipset stopped working with my audio devices, there was noticeable lag and sudden freezes, though file transfer was working fine without any fuss. I use a Sony SRS X3 and Jaybird Freedom for listening music and only for that purpose I needed an external adapter and I bought this. As I said I didn't have any trouble performance wise and I was happy with that. I found about the build quality in the hard way when I went travelling. The adapter was plugged into my laptop and stowed safely in my Everki Concept backpack(which can hold upto 17' laptops, mine is just 15'. So there's plenty of space for protection) and put in the overhead bin. After I reached back home after the trip I took out my laptop and found out that the top half of the plastic part is gone, just broken off from the bottom. I thought maybe this happened due to some turbulence or something. And again I went on to another trip and when I returned and opened up my backpack everything broke bit by bit. I could see all of its parts came off. It was fortunate that all of the parts were still inside the bag, so I picked them up and put them back together without damaging the chip. And I stick them together with Instant Glue that I got for 5 bucks. Voila, it works again even though the top half is still missing. I'd like to say that this was not the only dongle that was connected to the laptop the whole time, I had a Logitech receiver for the F710 Gamepad(3 Years) and another Belkin receiver for the M450 Wireless(2 Years) mouse both of them was plugged in along with the Kinivo Bluetooth adapter(5 Months). I've never taken out both of them during my trips. So, it's definitely the fail of the build quality. Verdict will be that if you're planning to buy this, once you get it do a overall cover before actually using it with some instant glue to protect it. Or at the least do it with some tape and you will be safe. Or good luck taking it of during traveling and searching for it later on.

When I first setup my custom Windows 8 desktop PC in 2013, I bought an equally expensive ASUS USB BT211 bluetooth adapter http://www.asus.com/in/Networking/USBBT211_Mini_Bluetooth_Dongle/overview/ for the PC. The adapter has been really great. Despite the fact it's Bluetooth v2.1+EDR (it actually registers as a Qualcomm Atheros AR3011 HS v3.0 chip) with max. speed of 3Mbps, it is a power Class 1 device with an amazing range of 100 meters (330 feet) line-of-sight in open space. So, basically, it works uninterrupted in a decently sized bedroom and living room. My "major" application of the device is to wirelessly stream all of the PC audio (movies/songs, etc.) over the bluetooth link to my bluetooth-enabled speakers. Over time, I noticed audio hiccups (not due to range or sync-related concerns) and primarily hang-ups of all media played over bluetooth. Researching the net thoroughly, I learned the ASUS BT211 is "incompatible" with Windows 8/8.1. So, began my search for a latest Win 8/8.1 supported v4.0 Bluetooth LE adapter. After a month of research and convincing, I stumbled upon more than "rave" reviews of the Kinivo BTD-300 and BTD-400 adpaters on Amazon and elsewhere. More importantly, the Kinivos are Microsoft-certified to work with Windows 8. However, when the Kinivo BTD-400 I bought arrived, the story was quite different. Firstly, it's a power Class 2 (not Class 1) device with a max. open space range of 10 meters (33ft). During scan, the Kinivo saw select devices: it saw my Note 2 with v4.0 LE, laptop with v2.1, but not a Logitech Bluetooth audio adapter/receiver with v3.0 http://www.logitech.com/en-in/product/bluetooth-audio-adapter, etc. I spent hours, days trying lots of things/combinations to confirm the problem, before even invoking the Kinivo Customer Care and considering a replacement/return from/to Amazon: - installed the Kinivo BTD-400 on different USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports on my Windows 8.1 desktop PC - set up the BTD-400 with the Broadcom software that came on the CD with the adapter, latest downloaded WIDCOMM software from Broadcom website, and without the software (and just the drivers that windows update automatically installed the adapter as "Broadcom BCM20702 Bluetooth 4.0 USB device). - installed the BTD-400 on several USB ports on two other PC and laptop computers. - uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled the BTD-400 in all of the above cases. - brought the BTD-400 less than an inch away from the Logitech BT Adapter. - disabled all Wi-Fi devices, antenna/router transmissions, keyboard/mouse wireless receivers, cell phones during the bluetooth scan to eliminate interference. -played around with the "Services" settings for Bluetooth devices, etc.... After thoroughly doing all of the above, I contacted Kinivo Customer Support via email (Case Number 89680) conveying that the BTD-400 is simply "blind" and unable to find the Logitech BT Adapter when the ASUS BT211 and all my other PC and laptop bluetooth adapters are able to connect, pair, and stream audio/media to the Logitech BT. Even a cheap Rs. 150/- Enter bluetooth adapter (http://www.amazon.in/Enter-2-0-Wireless-USB-Bluetooth/dp/B00JRU6ASU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1432405456&sr=8-2&keywords=usb+bluetooth) connected to the Logitech BT adapter. The Kinivo Customer care replies were so incessantly "adamant," "unyielding, and "unwilling" to accept that the BTD-400 is questionably faulty and perhaps has some RF issues that it doesn't detect the particular frequency band or the A2DP protocol the Logitech BT v3.0 is communicating over. I conveyed to them that I am sorta geek tech by profession and possess a Master's in Wireless Engineering from a reputed US university. Yet, the fortnight-long email exchange kept circling with lame things to try like "Change settings of the Bluetooth Services," "Make sure to put the Logitech BT in pairing mode and that it's not connected to other devices" (BTW, the Logitech BT has a multi-point technology allowing it pair with multiple bluetooth devices at a time), "Contact Logitech for support, your audio adapter has problems," etc. Every response was from a "new" agent who never cared to read the history below in the email thread and kept repeating ideas that previous customer reps already had suggested in a reply days ago to try. It's like they have a "BIG EGO" that they don't want to accept the difficult time a customer (who may not always be a techie) is having and instead of recommending a replacement/return, they just kept going on and on in circles. I was being nice to hold my ground to get a resolution, so that I don't have to return/replace. But, when I saw a pattern repeat, I ultimately gave up and returned the device to Amazon. Bet, even large companies like Apple and Google may not be as reluctant and egoistic. Shame! I finally ended up buying an amazing and smoothly functioning CSR 4.0 (with CSR8510 A10 chipset) bluetooth dongle from ebay for Rs. 290/- http://www.ebay.com/itm/171578086759. In fact the CSR 4.0 I received has a minor range issue, so when I wrote back to the seller and explained the problem well, he was happy to refund my money or send me a replacement all the way from China, without having me return the 1st piece. I request the Kinivo Support to please not to reply to this review as I have resiliently gone beyond an average customer capacity to look into every nook and cranny of the particular BTD-400 device I received, concluding that it indeed had a problem. Rather, please review the Case Number & the Serial of the device I sent back to diagnose the problem.

We bought this in 2014 for Rs.599. It used to be on my Windows 8 all-in-one desktop. Now, as the bluetooth option has completely disappeared without a trace from my laptop, I'm using this and it's perfectly fine now. But, it costed Rs.600, 11 years ago!😁

Re: Automatic connection with device might not take place (in case of Kinivo BTH240 Bluetooth Stereo Headphone). You need to switch Bluetooth on in settings (in case of Windows 10) and then pair the device again by first removing the paired device. It would have been better if the usb were bigger since it becomes difficult to grip the usb when taking it out. This is an amazing product if your laptop doesn't have bluetooth hardware. I had no difficulty installing the adapter. This will only happen if all bluetooth software has been uninstalled (refer to above link for further details). To add a bluetooth device click on the bluetooth icon on the right hand side of the taskbar, and click on add a device. After the device has been detected and paired, a window should open from which you can disconnect and connect to your bluetooth device.

I used this with Windows 10 Desktop mainly to stream music with my Bose SoundLink 3. And it simply doesn't work that way. In my opinion, i don't think Bluetooth adapter works very well with Desktop over USBs. I had no trouble streaming music however getting it to reconnect with my wireless speakers is annoying. If its your day, they will pair automatically when you turn your speaker on. Most other days, you have to find and pair again. I wouldn't ever use it for conference or voice calls. After receiving few Skype calls and not able to hear the other participant, i was so pissed off to find the connection between Bluetooth and my wireless speakers was long. I turned so paranoid, every time i made a Skype call, i'd check if they are paired well and voice is passed along well. Also, after a while - the speaker will simply lose the bluetooth connection. Now this doesn't happen over phone so i don't blame my speakers for this. I wouldn't recommend.
