Inrush Current Clamp Multimeter, BTMETER BT-570N TRMS 5999 Display Clamp-on Amp Meter for AC/DC Voltage Amperage Ohm Temperature Test

I bought this for the clip-on DC ammeter, something that is usually a premium on a multimeter. This meter works like a champ and has a lot of features rarely found on a meter in this price range, and it's accurate and easy to use. It's not a bench meter, but for occasional use by a car or bike mechanic or anyone else who has to troubleshoot DC systems it would be hard to beat.

I bought this clamp on meter for measuring both DC and AC current with the clamp. I did not purchase the Bluetooth model just the N model. It works well for my purposes. AC amperage is fairly accurate. DC current seems to need more than 4 amps or so to be accurate. I compared voltage measurements with my Fluke calibrated meter and the BT is about 1 volt off. Resistance measurements are close to my Fluke. The capacitance testing is good for electrolytics and close enough accuracy to determine if the cap is good or bad. Overall I like this clamp on meter! I did take a permanent marker to the function switch pointer as it is almost impossible to see what you select without a colored mark.

Purchased in June, 2021, primarily to read the inrush current on my HVAC, plus the temperature reading capability. It worked great until I tried to use it this summer. When I turned it "on" (rotary switch), the display screen flashed "8.8.8.8" (plus every symbol possible) with a distinct ticking sound every second. This occurs in every position of the rotary switch. I have removed and tested the 9v battery (9.02vdc) and replaced it, with the same results. I hope someone knows of a "hidden" re-set button, or...??? that will help. Follow-up...After seeing another review with similar symptoms that were cured by installing a NEW 9v battery, I tried putting in a new LiPo 9v battery, and voila!...it works again like new! THANK YOU for that helpful review!

This meter does as described, good value for the money. Can comment on accuracy but seems to be ok. One drawback is that the test leads are very hard/difficult to connect to the meter.

If you read the product description as of May 12, 2023, it says, "BOTH AC/DC CLAMP-ON AMMETER - High resulotion, True RMS allows you get accurate measurement regardless of waveforms. Relative mode for Capacitance, DC Inrush, ..." And the one-page doc that comes with the meter says it will do AC/DC inrush. This isn't correct. It will measure AC inrush. When you press the REL button for >2 secs in AC mode, yep, it changes into INR mode. When you do this in DC mode, nothing happens. Might be a fine meter in other regards, but I specifically wanted DC inrush.

Fantastic meter packed with many features that are only found on higher priced meters like inrush current, min/max and DC amps. Even the thermocouple is well made with a SS probe and handle that's absolutely necessary for high temperature readings. Meter is very accurate and feels well made. One little nit pick, be sure to push the probes all the way in to make proper contact. I WD-40'd them to help them slip in easier.

So this device is multiple meters in one package. I bought it for the ammeter function. Works fairly well for that - I checked several devices (AC only) and the readings were within 0.1 amp of the nameplate ratings. The device is also a volt-ohm meter and for that you need test leads....which are included in the package. Unfortunately, the black test lead they sent could not be fully inserted and therefore, the meter wouldn't work. I checked my spare test leads and found a set that works - and verified the volt-ohm meter works. The seller includes a little card stating if there's any problem, just let them know and they'll make it right. I had two issues: The black test lead would not work and, not mentioned above, the 9 volt battery they included caused the meter to beep and flash until I figured out the battery was half dead - 7.1 volts. I put in a new 9 volt battery instead. I sent an email to the address provided. Evidently I didn't make a persuasive argument because they wouldn't send any replacement stuff. In fact, they said send it back to Amazon, which I thought I'd do... except I got a deal on the price of the thing and a replacement would cost 20% more. So I kept it. I give it 3 stars because the meter works but it's nothing special and the service after the sale is a joke. It'll work for what I bought it to do....I hope.

I have good meters already and really bought this for inrush current tests. Really, for the money this is a good real. Is it top quality like a fluke? No, but it isn’t bad. Not to mention it comes with a case and temp probe. I got the no Bluetooth unit. For the average homeowner it’s a great buy.

The brand new pp9 battery that came with it still shrink wrapped was dead out of the box. It took a while to realise that is why the meter didn’t switch on. A new one solved that. The instructions are not the best but not the worst. I bought it to measure currents on vehicles and I haven’t yet tried that.

A lot of money for a device that only makes beeping sounds and flashes its LED screen, while what you actually ordered was a multimeter. Looks impressive, but does nothing. Nice for the Christmas tree, but not for your toolbox. Useless. That’s why I returned it. The little carrying case that comes with it is very handy, and would go well with a multimeter that actually works. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here.

Habe das Teil zurückgeschickt. Man kann sich aussuchen was für einen "gemessenen" Wert man möchte. Angezeigt wurden sogar negative! Ströme. Für mich unbrauchbar

The meter worked but its accuracy is poor, wish I'd spent more and bought a different one to be honest, sorry, but it's not very good for the price

The actual unit seemed fairly well made , with smoothed edges etc, not rough to hold . However the accuracy was somewhat poor, maybe just a faulty unit,. not an expensive unit, having purchased other dvm's over time, for similar money ,with better accuracy.
