Abused cans with oxidation on the top rim of cans
I'm sure the fruit inside is fine and meets what ever standards for freshness and quality. I'm not sure why or HOW the cans got so beat up!?!?!? The box they arrived in was fine, so that tells me someone at either Dole or Amazon beat the he'll out of these cans BEFORE they packaged them in the Dole packaging!!!! The oxidization on the rims of the cans is more concerning to me!! Again, why or how did these cans get chosen for shipment!?!?! At the local grocery stores here in Ontario Canada sell these dented cans at a HUGE discount!! If they come like this in the next shipment, I will be sending them back!!!

Really good!
Having added this product to my diet almost daily, I do still enjoy and recommend it, but I have been encountering a quality control problem that has been getting steadily worse over the past few months. (My original review is down below.) The problem is the unexpected existence of hard (sometimes very hard) core and rind in about half of the cans. I don't think there is any health risk associated with it but you have to be careful biting into it especially for children and anyone else with dental risks. I love pineapple and have always enjoyed it in recipes or served right out of the can. I don't recall ever encountering excessively firm or hard parts in the canned product, especially from Dole. So just be careful with it. My original review: Better than expected. I love Dole pineapple chunks but had never tried this variety until now. It is really, really good! Has a more tropical, almost wild pineapple flavor. I've never actually had wild pineapple and don't even know if there is any such thing, but that's what came to mind the first time I tried it.

Pineapple chunks with the hard center core
The quality is slipping a little. When I first starting buying , the pineaple chunks were free of the hard center core. My last few orders have many pineapple chunks with the center hard core.
