Great sheath only issued I had was the belt loop size. Didn't fit most belts. So added belt loop attachment myself

The leather was very dry and inflexible when received and wouldn’t easily cover or close around the axe head or handle. I oiled it liberally over several days using Obenauf’s leather oil, allowing time to soak in and formed it around the axe head and handle. Eventually it closed easily over the axe head but with difficulty around the handle. These were for Freyr bearded axes I purchased for my nephews. I like the product after the work done to refresh the leather. The handle/ belt loop attachment can be removed by drilling out the rivets which is what we will probably do, protecting the axe head and providing for safe handling and storage was really the intent.

This is a very precise fit, such that if you don't place it on the axe head at just the right angle it can't be snapped and you'd swear at first it doesn't fit. Good leather, tough stitching. It's a good product, obviously to protect both the edge of the axe as well as humans. If you have the Freyr axe I highly recommend this sheath.

The leather is very thin and dry, like the kind of cheap leather you'd expect from a costume prop holster. It feels more like cardboard than leather. I'm having to be very gentle with the belt attachment piece because I'm afraid I'm literally going to tear it just by wearing it. Also the flap that's supposed to snap in place to cover the axe head hasn't been shaped AT ALL. Where you would expect the flap to drape over the axe head and be ready to be snapped in place, instead it's stiff and sticks straight up, and you have to fight it to get it to "fold" down every time. I'm having to essentially condition and shape it to the axe myself to get it to fit, which isn't something I should have to do for a sheath that's specifically made for this axe. For $20 it's not a bad value, I guess. You get what you pay for.

As most other reviews have said, it's really tight and difficult to get on at first because it's stiff and new. I'm assuming it'll break in nicely. Well made and should be included with the Freyr.

the product fit perfect

The sheath for Freyr fits as I would hope but the belt part is riveted on and wouldn't last. Needs to stitched and riveted together. Needs to be oiled as well, very dry.
