This is a very tough and durable mat. It fits well and installs easily. It compliments the bed mat very well.

Identical build quality to the Dee Zee Heavy Duty Bed Mat, which is excellent. Very heavy reinforced rubber mat that lays flat after you unroll it. Recessed holes in mat accommodate included screws so that the heads don't stick up above the surface of the mat. Very easy installation - trimmed about 1.5" off so it would fit my F150 the way I wanted it to. Easy to do with a straight edge and a drywall knife. Drilled 12 9/32" holes in the tailgate to install it, using the mat itself as a koine-up template. Drove the included black sheet metal screws in with a power driver - whole deal took less than an hour and results are great, I installed this because climbing up on my tailgate in wet weather is like walking on I've - very dangerous. This thing gives me a skid proof pad the climb up on. I read al of the negative reviews and wondered if these people are even talking about the same product. One guy even complained about the box it came in ... really? This is a durable, high quality mat that is very easy to install unless you are all thumbs.

This tailgate mat is very durable but kind of tricky on the install. The instructions want you to drill into the tailgate and use the screws provided to mount it. I absolutely will not drill into the tailgate of my 2015 F150 to install a $30 mat. After reading reviews from other customers about this and how they installed the mat, I decided to use industrial velcro from Walmart to install it. The finished process is not showroom or American Trucks worthy but it keeps the mat in place and doesn’t shift much when throwing stuff on it when loading the bed of the truck. I have had to add more velcro as this mat does have some weight to it but it is definitely a better alternative to drilling into a tailgate. I’m still glad I purchased it as it does protect the tailgate. Overall would I recommend: yes because it is cheaper than other brands but know that if you don’t want to drill into the tailgate then your next best is some sort of adhesive like epoxy or velcro.

As advertised. It is a little wider from side to side than the tailgate so it will have to be trimmed. Nice and heavy like the bed mat by Dee Zee. UPDATE: 5/7/17- Had to cut some off the width (side to side) and radius the bottom corners so the tailgate would close. Not a problem to cut if you have the right tool. A utility knife with 2 sharp blades. Use a metal straightedge that you clamp down on the material and make a series of cuts, starting with light pressure and using more pressure as you make subsequent cuts. I used a belt sander to round or radius the corners. Used construction adhesive and heavy blocks to glue it down and put a total of 10 screws in the countersunk holes. Worked fine. Just take your time.

This is a perfect fit for my 2022 Ram 1500 Classic. No cutting necessary. I just bought a used 2022 Ram 1500 Classic and I always put bed and tailgate pads in my trucks even if they have a spray in liner. This tailgate pad was a perfect fit once aligned properly. I laid it flat in my garage, with some toolboxes on top for some weight, for 24 hours before installing. I used a 1/8 drill bit and the included screws worked perfectly. It looks great.

The product is well made, no question about that (despite what other reviewers have said). The big question is about installation & fit. One reviewer said they didn't like that they had to drill holes to install. Well, these reviewers need to read the online description more closely and they would know that drilling may be required! Please don't review products out of ignorance! If you screw up installation because of your fault, don't let that affect your review! My liner did not fit perfectly, but I decided to use another due to my Chevy Silverado tailgate having the 'slowed' drop feature. This product seemed to put too much weight on it and it resulted in the tailgate dropping too fast with a solid 'thud'. But due to a bit of modification, I used it for the the bulkhead & ordered a lighter version of a TG liner. Yes, maybe the description could have mentioned this issue, but I worked around it. Bottom line: know what you're looking for and read the description carefully. Another tip: whether pro or con, please inform the rest of us what the vehicle brand & model you're dealing with!

I installed this on my 2009 for f150. It’s not an exact custom fit. But it fits good with no trimming. Does require some thought before and during your install. Mainly because you have to drill holes in your tailgate. So get it right on the first try. Calls for the use of a 9/64 drill bit. I think that’s too big of a hole for the screws they provide.I went 2 sizes smaller to a 7/64. Screws are nice and tight. Lays flat, fits good and added the protection and grip that I wanted.

I'm very happy with this tailgate mat. I knew it was universal fit tailgate mat and would need trimming to fit correctly. It fit perfectly to the width of the tailgate (60") of my truck without trimming but it did require 1.5 inches cut off the bottom in order for the tailgate to close properly. It was easy to do with a large sharp knife. You don't really notice it has been trimmed since the cut edge is facing down. I've read about the screws provided with the mat breaking but I didn't have any problems. I drilled the holes with a 0.140" drill bit and used a Phillips screwdriver to run the screws in by hand. I wouldn't recommend a drill with a screwdriver bit to drive the screws in. It would probably break off the small screws if you got them too tight. This mat appears to be plenty thick and tough but still soft enough to cushion your knees if you have to crawl on it. That is what I was looking for in a tailgate mat. Well worth the money!

Fast shipping and Easy installation. Really adds extra protection to your tailgate. Spray on bed liners are ok if you're only loading light articles. However if you're like me and haul hunting gear and lord knows what else, the spray on liners just don't prevent dents and dings from the heavy items. A great investment!

It’s a nice heavy duty mat however it could be 2 inches larger in height to cover more of the tail gate surface
