Branick 7600 Strut Spring Compressor

I replaced the front struts on my 2019 Durango R/T and the Branick 7600 was probably a literal lifesaver! I had attempted it with the MacPherson Strut Spring Compressor from AutoZone but the threaded rods began flexing so bad before I could relieve pressure on the top hat I decided to stop before something really bad happened. The Branick 7600 is made in USA, heavy duty, well designed, and much safer because of the three points of spring contact and the fact that the fingers can be positioned closer to the ends of the spring. In my case the top fingers were even able to be positioned on the top hat. It’s an excellent product and a welcomed addition to my shop.

Ok. I spent 7 hours trying to make a cheap "widow maker" style compressor work on my RAV4. I even got a 2nd set from another auto store. I purchased the clamshell style from Harbor Freight. Finally I gave up and had to pay a shop to compress and change my struts for me. I have 6 personal vehicles I service for my family and I had 2 more sets of struts to do. So I decided to bite the bullet and pop for this 900 dollar machine. WORTH EVERY PENNY! Mounted it on my wall. Did 2 sets of struts on a Saturday morning. So glad I bought this.

I purchased this ages ago and stopped rebuilding coil overs at about the same time - so it sat in storage for a long time. It was finally needed a couple days ago and it was a godsend. I did not expect it to be so easy. I've used all sorts of widow maker compressors before and have had close calls. There had been instances where I could get one off, but the second would be impossible to remove - not fun. I'd also had one launch across the garage before. Had it hit me in the head, I don't know what the outcome would have been. Even using this I am wary, but it is MUCH safer than everything else I've used. I can't comment on the Strut Tamer as I've never used one, only I purchased this over it based on reviews. There were extra cushions for the claws and a clamp to keep the strut from falling out included as well.

Compressing struts is a potentially fatal exercise, so this is a time when a business owner cannot choose to compromise to save a bit of money. The build quality of this item is absolutely top-notch and worth every cent.

Great tool, you can't be wrong if you decide to get this tool, change a strut in 5 minutes and most important very safe, I decide to get the stand so I can move it if need to, been a mechanic for 25 years I can say surely Branick 7600 is the best you can get to swap struts for any vehicle, love the adjustable head pins, with 30 struts replacement I consider will get my money back and then will be all profits for years to come, great value , I know you can get cheaper tools but they lacks quality and safety, I highly recommend this product if you are a automotive mechanic, if you will use it once then I recommend you take your struts to someone who have it and for a little fee you'll make your life easier.

I placed my order on Monday and it arrived by Thursday. Very Happy with my purchase. Weighs about 90 lbs and has a base that is approximately 17" X 17" X 36" (Tall). Used it immediately and worked as advertised. Easy to use, very sturdy. I actually enjoyed installing the springs on my Bilstein 6112 Coil Over Shocks. I was able to mount both springs on shocks in less than 30 minutes. If you want to mount on wall, unit has two holes on back plate approximately 31" apart. Foot print relatively small for the kind of results.

Received the Branick 7600 and looked undamaged. Installed it on a wall then noticed one of the adjustment pins was bent. Contacted Myers Tire Supply through the Amazon message center. They were very responsive and got the replacement shipped directly from Branick to me. I installed the new pin fixing the issue. I’ve already used the tool to replace some struts. It is as easy and safe as the others have stated in their reviews.

Expensive and kinda large but very safe and fast. Compressed 600 lb/in nissan xterra springs with no issue. Highly recommend. Had an trip to the emergency room using the cheap clam shell style strut compressor. The hospital cost cost 3x this tool. Wish I started with this. I now let anyone I know use it because it's safer.
