I recommend this item.
I’ve searched for something that will inspire my 10 year old Grandson and think this may be the one. He is Down Syndrome and non verbal and when I showed it to his Mum she thought it was something they could work together with alongside sign language, so I do recommend it.

Okay
Good selection of talking buttons. Good volume. Easy to record own voice. I purchased for my dad who has speech difficulties following a stroke. Unfortunately, the words that describe the button are too small for him to read. He won’t use it. Expensive for what it is- very plasticky, It feels quite cheap and not very robust.

AAC for autistic son
Absolutely amazing! My autistic son has communicated with me for the first time in 7 years, and I am so grateful! The programmable buttons are huge as we have been able to add personalised options.

Very practical and handy device to communicate!
If you are wondering, you should buy it! We even took it to the Mayo Clinic and our speech therapist was impressed by how handy and affordable it was. It has helped my nonverbal 3 year old be able to communicate with us consistently for the first time! They took to it right away. It is easy to record, the buttons do require a direct push but it’s actually great for us because it’s intentional use and it’s super light weight. We love how we don’t have to charge it like a iPad because it’s batteries. We own multiple iPad as aac talkers that were way pricey, hard to get and too complicated to use. This is just the right amount to start. We are so happy to have this device that we bought two more for preschool use!

Great Starter Communication Tool
It's a great start for my non-verbal daughter. She tested all the buttons a few times and then kept pushing the "Shower" and "Bathroom" buttons to let us know she wanted a bath. It took her all of 5 minutes to figure out how to communicate with it. She is still figuring out how to ask for snacks and prefers to open the fridge or bring us an empty bowl, but it's been a big step that she took almost instantly otherwise. She's been a lot less frustrated with us not understanding her now and it's only been a couple days. It's a huge improvement for all our lives. We will eventually need to splurge on an app with a larger vocabulary, but this device is great. We previously had pictographs and tried a communication board and while she seemed to understand them actually hearing the words from this gadget makes it easier for her to associate.

Love this product
So, I’m an RBT at an autism clinic. A client of mine came in with one of these and we transitioned from a PECS book to this AAC device. This baby was completely non verbal and now he can mand, tact, etc. after using this device for about 6 months. I’m so impressed with it that I ordered this one for my son who is 16 and has autism amongst other developmental disabilities and I think it’ll be a great way for him to learn to communicate without being distracted to his AAC device that also allows him to access other apps like Disney, Netflix, YouTube. We had to remove the iPad altogether because it was causing aggressive behavior when denied access. So this little device with simple ways to communicate feelings, mand for items, etc. is hopefully going to help with behaviors that are stemming from frustration from not being able to communicate wants and needs easily. I’m very excited to try this. I know my son (16) is a lot older than my client (5), but hopefully after some consistent use, he’ll be able to communicate his wants and needs and SIB will go down as well as aggression towards adults.
