Solid square
Very solid square. Have been using another top brand for my 6 inch square and put hands on others at multiple big box stores. They all felt like toys with obviously reduced thickness here and there to save them money. The Swanson is the only one that feels like a serious tool. The machining is excellent. I did have to true it but this took less than a minute. It's easy to do. Just look it up. The solid build gives me confidence it will stay true.

Well made
This is a good square. It’s clean and well finished. Numbers on the ruler are darkened and very readable. Functions properly in all ways. And - my scribe was included. Got it as a second square to leave in place at my miter saw due to the price, but it’s not a second rate tool at all.

Very precise
Good quality small combination square. Checked squareness and it was perfect. Holds tight with thumb lock. It is a good value.

easy to read, good value
Square is decent, easy to read. However, mine was delivered without the steel scribe. Returned for a refund. Update: ordered a replacement. This one came with scribe. Small enough to keep in apron pocket, accurate measurement, decent quality tool. Not as high caliber as my Starrett squares, but its also 1/15th the price! Added 1 star to rating.

Great little combo square
Nothing to dislike, scale is easy to read moved the square up and down the rule locked it down checked it with a precision square and no matter were I adjusted it to it was dead on 90 degrees. Plus made in the good old US at a fair price. Win win

Feels like quality.
45 years ago I bought a combo square and a bunch of other tools when I got married just out of college and needed tools (and established my first loan to get a credit history). Recently I added a 12' x 32' shed/garage for my tractor and mower (big enough for workbench with a cordless chop saw) and wanted a combo square to use there. The Swanson impresses me greatly. It feels "quality", which is hard to describe but you know it when you handle and use a better than good tool. This is.

Rough finish but accurate.
I've had 6" combination squares from Johnson, Irwin and this time Swanson. The first two were heavy and inaccurate, so I didn't expect much for ten bucks when I ordered this one. The Swanson is indeed "rough" as other reviewers have said, however the one I received was dead accurate when tested against a Starrett and two engineer squares of known accuracy. No adjustment was necessary, except to use a diamond stone to soften the sharp edges. The graduations on the blade were clear and readable, the blade lock was well-machined, and the brass lock nut was easy to engage and loosen again. The blade locked securely with little pressure. Except for the rough edges, I could find nothing to complain about with this square. The blade fit in the body of the Johnson square was sloppy, and the lock didn't positively lock the blade. Once the lock knob was tightened on the Johnson, it stuck and was difficult to loosen again. The Irwin was heavy and the blade was disproportionately thin and difficult to read. The Swanson had none of these problems. For the money, due to blade fit and its accuracy, I thought the Swanson was an excellent value. Don't confuse Johnson with Swanson; the Swanson was better in every respect.

Better than expected
This is a very nice small Tri square, that exceeded my expectations. Accurate, well marked measurements gradients and overall sturdy quality.

Bien, me gustó.
