Exactly what I wanted
I ordered this product because I like hearing high quality audio and I travel a lot. Although it doesn't have perfect sound and can't hold a candle to Bose and similar products, the Wowee One absolutely meets my needs when I'm on the road. Its an impressive little piece of technology that uses just about any surface as a bass. One of the biggest concerns for me is size and this device is perfect. Its roughly the size of an iphone 4 but twice as thick. It does, however, fit perfectly inside my electronics travel case. I have used the Wowee on camping trips and in many many hotels and it has never disappointed. The fact that it is rechargeable is great (except at the minute it runs out of batteries). Additionally, it uses the same charger as my work Blackberry so charging it is easy (except when electricity is unavailable). Bottom line, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a truly portable sound system that fits in your pocket. If you have space for larger sound systems, then the bigger system will likely have better sound quality... but when you need to be able to carry a small device which produces the highest quality sound for its size, there is no better option than the Wowee. The biggest draw-back I have experienced is that the Wowee will literally jump up and down if you try to listen to music with A LOT of bass (Dubstep music, for example). I emphasis A LOT of bass because this device can handle most mainstream music, but the jumping issue seems to occur when you put electronic music on at high volumes. To solve this, they sell a bracket-like device that secures the speaker to a surface using what are basically 3M Command Strips, which allow you to secure something to a surface and then pull a tab to release the seal and separate the items. Of course, once you've unsecured the bracket from whatever surface it was on you need more Command Strips to secure the Wowwee to a new surface. This can create a situation where you spend a lot of money on 3M Command Strips, but I find that you can avoid this problem by using a little strategy to plan what you will need the bracket for. For example, I spent a week camping on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii last summer. The minute we got to the campsite I attached the Wowee to the top of the cooler using the bracket and didn't remove it from there for the entire week. We had the cooler at the campsite and brought it to the beach with us, which meant we had good sound wherever we went. Whenever I needed to charge the Wowee I just slid it out of the bracket and plugged it in (this can be a little challenging but can definitely be accomplished... getting back in to the bracket can a challenge too). If you go through the hassle of using the bracket, you are rewarded with excellent sound quality even with music with a lot of bass. If you're not a fan of music with tons of bass you can probably skip the bracket (although the bracket does secure the device to a window which sounds awesome).

I am impressed!
I travel a lot, and I was looking for portable speakers for my laptop that would produce sound with more bass. After reading all the reviews, I decided to get one, and WOW. I'm impressed. Sometimes, I would connect it to a TV that has a headphone jack, which then I would allow this thing to connect. It does come with a 3.5 mm male to male pin, and a usb cord to charge the unit. Don't expect it to be a 7.1 Digital Surround Sound system. It's meant to be portable, so if you put the volume up too much, the treble and the bass will distort. The only thing I have is that the gel does get dusty due to the surfaces you lay it on. What I would do is dab a little bit of water onto a piece of paper towel and wipe it off. One thing to definitely do when you receive it is to remove the plastic that adheres to the gel, but when you are done with the WOWee, clean it up, and re-adhere the plastic to protect it from dust. Don't throw it away... unless you want to keep cleaning it all the time. Other than that, excellent, excellent product.

Decent response... interesting product..
While the product itself is interesting its not the newest thing i've ever seen as far as using surfaces to create sound (remember the soundbug from the early 2000's?) - you can find it on this website somewhere. Pros: Good bass response, on hollow but sturdy surfaces. anything that is solid doesn't quite do the job. Decent battery life, but not up to par. Had to return and get a new one, was dismayed. It didn't even last a full car ride home and 2 hours of playing in the office. Cons: Decent battery life, i just bought a cyfi speaker -- and while the bass isn't as deep the battery life trumps this while being completely wireless.. ITS WIRED! It weighs a ton, and you cannot just slip this into your pocket without a belt! the rear side of the product is a gel based material that lets it grab the surface and transmit the bass, but this same gel gets very dusty very easily! (i know, i put it in my pocket but even after a quick wipe down, it picks it up off the tabletop). Overall, its the best bass portable speaker, but by no means the best product i've ever seen on the market.

Very Good Product, but sound can be a little better.
Trust me, I read up on tons of review before I bought it. I also check out other portable speakers, but just kept coming back to the "Wowee One". I just got this in the mail today (ordered from Amazon). Finally!! As open it, it feels a little heavy, but very durable. I took off the plastic protective covering on the gel-pad on the bottom and plugged in the 3.5 mm jack (included) to the Wowee and my iPod Touch. I first tested the sound like everyone else did by playing the music as I was holding the Wowee (in the air). So far the sound wasn't that bad coming out of the Wowee. I then place it down on a surface of my heavy dresser (2.5' x 3' x 1.5', with clothes in it) and the bass was fairly deep sounding to an extent (it needs to be deeper so you can feel it). The highs and mids are OK, but could be better (mids and treble kind of sounded like an old radio, but was clear enough). I love music and I understand how things are suppose to sound (deepest bass with crisp highs and mids). I like this product, but was a little* disappointed as other reviewers made it sound like this is the best! When I actually heard it for myself, it was pretty good, but not "the best"... I thought maybe I could enhance the sound a little by playing with the equalizer setting from the iTouch, the best sound I could get is a setting of "Rock" for the equalizer (too bad iTouch doesn't have a manual equalizer to adjust it yourself). I also tried different types of genres to test the sound (rock, hip-hop, R&B, club,) and the equalizer setting of "rock" works best for me. This gives any of my tracks deeper bass, with higher mids and treble. I was looking for that deep bass with higher mids and treble to get the "stereo" type of sound (as this speaker is a "mono" speaker, if you don't have the splitter). Anyways, I was trying it on everything to get the best sound (wifey and daughter was getting annoyed, haha). Like everyone else stated obviously if you place it on a surface that has an empty type of hollow space inside, you will get deeper bass. The dresser I was using to test the sound was pretty good. I also tried it on the bathroom mirror (3x4) with a slight space between the wall and mirror (1/2") and that sounded really good. I also tried the bathtub on a certain area (I think it was acrylic or fiberglass, not ceramic or marble)and the bass was really deep! Overall, this thing is pretty cool to have if you want a portable speaker with decent sound. I mean, for the size, I'm sure it blows other competitors away. Now I dont need to bring my other computer speakers (6 pieces, haha) if I want to have decent sound to small hangouts or whatever. Oh man, I want to take this thing camping too! Just make sure you bring something to lay it on to get the subwoofer effect (since your outside)... I would recommend this product if you need a decent portable speaker, but remember "surface is key" to achieving the deepest bass effects. It's a little high on the price ($59.99-$79.99). I would think they should make the price a solid $39.99 if you ask me (for what I think it's worth). Anyways, yeah, if I had the extra money, I would buy another one and get the jack splitter so it could be in stereo! Buy it!

Exactly
I was looking for something to take on boat rides, and this little speaker was just perfect. I use it to give my boat rides a little more flair. Set it on the console and everyone in the boat can share the tunes and if you are close enough feel the base vibrations. I'd say it's at least 5x louder than any phone can go. It literally couldn't be easier to use (plug it in, done) and it is highly portable, just put it in your pocket... The battery life is good so far, and thought the sound quality isn't the best in the world, it does exactly what i want it to do. If you want a semi-cheap highly portable good speaker, than this one fits all that. ***NOTE*** You also need a surface to put it on! Since I use it on a boat, that isn't ever an issue.

Think twice before buying
This product is not worth it. iPhone speakers are louder and more reliable. The sound quality is awful, lots of static and speaker lasts for about fifteen minutes. I would return it if I could- probably my worst and most regrettable purchase on Amazon.

Almost there...
I wanted to love this, after a while, I would have been satisfied with liking it. But I didn't love, or even like it at all. I understand the whole surface connection thing. This speaker resonates the larger surface it's attached to to make larger sound waves required for decent bass. So, please, no replies about placing it on the right surface. I know that. My problem wasn't the surface dependency, it was the quality of the mid-high frequency driver. The sound from the front speaker (which delivers the mids and highs) simply sounds horrible. Basically, it sounds like a telephone. At best, it sounds like a telephone hooked up to a sub-woofer. For those familiar with Equalization, take 500Hz, 1KHz and 2KHz, and turn them all the way up, leaving everything else flat. Not pleasant. I don't understand why the mid- and high-frequencies could not sound at least as good as an iPad. That way, when I can't find a great surface, I would still have somewhat pleasing sound. To be clear, my disappointment is all about the midrange and highs. I was able to find decent bass on several surfaces, glass works best, as did a metal filing cabinet. The most pleasing performance I found was inside of a drawer. With the unit closed inside a drawer, it sounded quite nice. Summary: No Highs, No Lows, must be Bose! PS: They really have a good idea here. Perhaps a future iteration of this product will solve the upper frequency problem. If they do, I'll gladly try it again.

Turn it upside down and it's aaMOM...lots of fun!
This little device is phenomenal for its size! If you're traveling, this takes up virtually no space in your rollaboard/carry-on or even in your laptop bag. Its size is basically like a double-thickness iPhone would be. If you're sick of the feeble, distorted sound from your laptop's built-in speakers, or if you want to liberate yourself from headphones/earbuds and make your iPod audible in the whole room, this will do the job handily. It will go crazy loud if you want it to-- with plenty of bass, depending on what kind of surface you place it on (a wood tabletop is good, a granite countertop is not). It's self-powered with a long-lasting internal battery, and recharges through a simple cable to an ordinary USB port, so you don't even have to carry a charger. Charging and audio connecting cables are included. It's definitely worth the money, and very aptly named. WOWEE!

Great sounding speaker
Saw a video of this product and you cant really get the feeling of it as it depends what kind of speaker you are listening to the video with. Its a bit like watching a HD Video on a standard Tv. I have been most impressed not only with the sound but also the battery life. It lasts far beyond other portable speakers i have used and doesn't loose its charge over time. At fist i spent an hour or so with a friend putting it all all surfaces from walls, to bath tubs and bins to find the best sound as it basically uses hollow items as a speaker box to amplify the sound. I think the classic version is the way to go on battery life alone. Very easy to use as it has no buttons and switches on when it detects a 3.5mm jack plugged in. This may be a issue for some as the only way to turn it off is by removing the 3.5mm plug so can not be left it all the time. But as its a portable speaker this wasn't an issue for me

Piccolo di dimensioni ma giurassico nel suono
Ottimo amplificatore. Si adatta alla maggior parte dei riproduttori senza problemi. La purezza del suono ne fa un ottimo stereo portatile.

Buy this!!!!
Don't bother listening to the low reviews. I was slightly put off by them but I am glad I ignored them and dismissed them as overly picky people who don't know much. This works like a sub woofer without the casing so you need to place it on a hollow surface or something which will allow the sound waves to vibrate. I got this to use for something to listen to when working outside or taking a shower. This thing is 10x better than I expected!!! Put this thing on the toilet lid and the base immense! Nothing is filthier than dubstep rumbling from the toilet lol. It also works great for metal, techno and many of other genres of music I have tried. Same goes for windows and glass the bass is good on these too. Even when it's not sitting on something it sounds OK however there isn't much base if its not sat down on a surface however it is designed to sit on a surface so that is not a problem. When in the shower if I turn it up the base shakes the floor, it is such deep bass. I had a pair of expensive sony portable speakers for years with very good base and the wowee one is about 3x better which I was surprised by as I always used to get people commenting about how good my Sony speakers sounded. I didn't expect this to be so good! Hopefully it is as durable as it is functional, time will tell I suppose. It seems quite sturdy so far and battery life has lasted me a few hours so far out the box without a charge. In short buy this, you wont regret it unless you're one of those silly people who expect a speaker this size to sound like a massive sub. Its already pushing the boundaries of the noise and bass something this size can make. What a great bit of kit!
