Found fleas in my dogs bedding and luckily this product came fast! I used this spray on and near my dogs bed and could tell it worked almost instantly. Really happy with this purchase and doesnt stink like some other brands i have tried. Would definitely recommend!!

At the time I used this, I had 9 kitties, and all but one of them went outside a lot. I used this to spray down their bedding, the couch, and the carpets in areas where they like to hang out. We also used good flea drops on them, and sprayed around the house and back porch, where the pet door is, with an outside flea spray. In the South, with multiple pets going in and out, it takes that sort of approach- no one product is going to do the job. We managed to get through the spring and fall after using this with no fleas in the house. I have used a product that was easier, but only because it was an aerosol, but it's $30 and I can usually only get it at the Vet's. (It's available on Amazon but often OOS and just as high.) The thing I like about this is that it kills flea eggs. That's the big thing- the products have to kill those flea eggs and babies or they just aren't going to work because all it takes is one mama flea to make a huge hatch out and there's fleas everywhere. This also seemed to keep spiders and other bugs down too, which is a real plus here in this climate, and we live close to the woods too - except for brown stink bugs. (Halyomorpha halys) That's really the only bug we had problems with all year. We did not see ticks. We put out tick tubes which ticks carry to their bedding and it kills the baby ticks. We also have a few free range hens, which have been probably the #1 thing that has helped us fight ticks. We used to be just covered up with them because of our location- they would just drop out of the trees onto you. In any event, we did not have a flea or tick problem this year inside. Most years, no matter what I do, I still end up flea bombing the place at least once. I didn't have to do that this year.

I have a tick problem. If you've ever considered the philosophical problem of evil, how it's possible for evil to exist in a just universe ostensibly created by a benevolent and omnipotent creator, then you have probably thought about ticks. Because guys, ticks are the very emblem of pure evil. We had a soggy wet winter, superb for healthy tick breeding, and somewhere on some trail, the dogs picked them up, and now they seem to be living and breeding in the chaparral on my property. Seems like every day one or more of the dogs come in from outside with a new tick. I treated all the dogs with Frontline, which has slowed the ticks down, but has not stopped them. So I got a hold of this Direct Protect Plus. Per the label, it's not ok to bathe myself or the dogs in it, or I would. But since that's not an option, I have treated their beds and other areas they frequent. I have also treated suspicious areas outside where the dogs like to lounge and socialize, but sparingly, because I don't want to get into destroying beneficial insects or interrupting the food chain outside. There are insects we need to not destroy, like bees and butterflies, and pretty much all of the others. Except ticks. Ticks should be nuked from orbit. So, at the end of the second day, I can say that I haven't found any new ticks on the dogs. It doesn't mean they aren't there, necessarily, but I did look. It also doesn't necessarily mean that the spray worked and killed the ticks... it could be a correlation without causation. But it's promising. All signs point to this being the solution. I'll keep applying as directed, and in whatever creative ways I can, and report back here if this doesn't continue to appear to control those demons.

Overall, looking at the chemicals in it and the directions, after using it i do not feel comfortable using it again as i am concerned what the chemicals inside may do to me or my wife or dog. I will search for more organic ingredients in the next product i buy.

We have had a difficult time with fleas and ticks this year. We got this to treat our rugs and areas around the sleeping quarters. Let's see how it worked. WHAT IS THIS LIKE? This is in a spray bottle and it has a nozzle that turns on and off. It has a smell that is not overbearing, but it does have a bit of odor to it which requires that you not be in the room for an hour or so after spraying. HOW DOES THIS WORK? We lightly sprayed this around the carpet and edges of sleeping area and waited a whole day before re-entering that room again with our pets. It was amazing because I was getting tired of fleas jumping up and biting my legs no matter where we went in the house. After using this spray, within a day or two, we have not had a problem with the fleas since. We have not seen ticks in the house before or after- they would come in on our animals but we would remove them with tweezers. ANY PROBLEMS? I am very sensitive to chemicals. I was afraid to try this because I did not want headaches or reactions. However, after using it, I had no problems at all. After opening all windows to air out the room while it dried, this has been no problem since. I am very happy about that. Not even our sensitive cat reacted to it. THE BOTTOM LINE If you have pets like we do that struggle with fleas and ticks and get tired of them jumping up and biting your legs and other parts of you, this spray could help you like it did us. I am thankful it stopped the flea problem in its tracks. Combined with natural flea collars we got (that we had not tried before) and this spray, our house has been flea controlled for several months now. MY RATING After giving this SEVERAL MONTHS to try out, I must say this is a FIVE STAR product for us. It works and I did not get bad reactions from it. It also did not reek for a long time like others do.

This Direct Protect Plus Flea & Tick Home Spray seems to work quickly and the smell is not too bad. This is a product for spraying your home and furnishings and pet bedding. It is NOT for use directly on your pet. It not only starts killing live fleas or other insects immediately, it has a residual effect that Direct Protect says lasts for up to 7 months by preventing eggs from hatching. To use, remove pets and people from the area and spray a light mist on furniture, carpeting, bedding, drapery, etc. Leave the room and do not return until the areas are dry - about an hour or so. You can speed this up by using a box fan in the area. This product alone will not get rid of a flea infestation. You will need to treat your yard and the perimeters of your house, as well as your pet. You will need to vacuum frequently and dispose of the vacuum bag or empty the bin and take it out immediately. Treating your pet may include flea baths, flea combing, topical flea treatments, flea collars, etc. I also find that diatomaceous earth is a safe and effective tool, too. Anyway, you will need to take a multi-pronged approach if you have a flea outbreak. But this is also a good spray for preventing an outbreak in the first place since it is long lasting. It does have an insecticide smell but it's not too strong. I don't know yet if it really works for 7 months but so far, so good.

I also had two dogs that died of Lyme disease. This bruise really easy to use. You just spray it on your furniture, bedding, carpeting or wherever your pets laid down. Do not spray this directly on your pets. Are you sure that the area has dried first before you allow your pet to lay on it.
