ESAW MM-02 Medical Student Compound Microscope

Honest review. I think this is the best microscope under this price range. Received all the parts as mentioned in the description and most importantly in good condition! The quality is also good, however the slide mounting or slide holder part is loose it lifts the slide up a little bit, I saw this problem with one of the reviewers too. other than that everything is just awesome! And yes you can achieve 2500x. I don't think it's as good as other higher microscopes but yes it does the work, I personally tried oil immersion with ordinary oil...it works, I have even uploaded a photo of onion cells nucleus! Yes the resolution or clarity is not that much good, but at this price range this is the best. This is a beginner microscope, best for people who wants to start a hobby with microscopy. Pictures:: monocot pollen(prepared slide) at 45x Yeast cells at 45x (made by me) Onion cell nucleus (made by me) at 100x...ie.b2500x with the 25x eyepiece....!!

Pros: 1. Pretty sturdy build quality. 2. It even has a holder for colour filters (below condenser). 3. 10x & 45x objective lens, and both 10x & 25x eye piece lens are good quality. 4. Precise fine control and no wiggle. Cons: 1. 100x objective lens is not very good, even with the provided immersion oil, it does give a clear image. 2. The stage/platform is made of plastic. The plastic is strong per se, but not as good as a metal one. 3. Both the LED and mirror used for light are not centered below the condenser; it is a design flaw and cannot be fixed readily. The offset in light leads to some optical aberrations. 4. The LED provided is with the microscope is simply bad. It is too close to the underside of the condenser. It's impossible to install a phase contrast ring, or even a dark field attachment. For general purpose, I'd recommend the 1500x microscope, as 2500x might sound awesome, but there is almost no difference between the optical quality of a 1500x and a 2500x Esaw microscope. The 2500x image might be larger, but the loss in quality is not worth it.

Great product

I bought this for me and I didn't enjoy it too much because they gave me two 10x eyepieces instead of one 10x eyepieces and one 25x eyepiece . And I can see any life forms in it but It is easy to use and the functions was a little cranky the image quality was good the durability is kind of good and is a educational purpose if you get a 25x eyepiece that I didn't get which is sad and it good for kids that wants to see life forms .

Good for learning purpose

Build Quality: I would say that build quality is below average. As an example, the tube can gets stuck in the groove at either ends during coarse adjustment , slides move in unintended ways on the stage etc (poor stage clips). Packaging: Packing quality was also below average. The immersion oil container had burst, microscope had moved inside the styrofoam container so much that it had destroyed most of the styrofoam container, etc Quality of output: 10X eyepiece with the dry objectives work well. 15X eyepiece is still giving me focus issues, but I still have not diagnosed the reason behind it. Overall, I would say that you get what you pay for with this scope. It is relatively cheaper product and it will get the job done for you. But do not have any high expectations of quality

Quality of the product and the packaging was excellent. We are very happy with this product and it felt truly worth the purchase. Microscope is sturdy and the readymade slides are made available neatly in a beautiful wooden box. And, a huge plus point for everyone is that it is made in India. Attached with my review are two microscopic views of onion root tip at different resolutions. Hope it helps.
