I compared these versions - - 20th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray - Region Free edition Blu-ray (non-USA release) - NEW - THIS product, the new Steelbook by Shout! Results, no test equipment, just eyes and ears - * 20th Anniversary Edition is the Extended cut (about 4 hours). A beautiful visual/audio transfer. (My own bias is in favor of the original Theatrical cut, but many also like this extended version.) * Region Free edition (non-USA release) is the Theatrical cut (Oscar winner; about 3 hours). This transfer is marred by some very minor artifacts, and detail, depth and beauty did not quite match the other two editions I'm comparing here. I always had that dissatisfaction with this version. * NEW- THIS product - Shout!'s Steelbook version video/audio quality matches or exceeds the beautiful 20th Anniversary Edition - and it includes both the Theatrical and Extended versions of the film - both of which are remarkably beautiful. And, this product fills a gap: the first truly fine looking Blu-ray transfer of the Theatrical cut. The Steelbook case is handsome, nicely sized for the shelf. For its beautiful Theatrical cut in particular, it's a great find, plus it also includes the Extended cut and the same Extras that came with the 20th Anniversary set. Pricing at this page has recently toggled between full- and half-price, so watch that - and - grab one before the limited edition count, sells out. Good luck, and I hope the above comments help. Review: Beautiful quality! - One of my all time favorite movies and plays beautiful on my 4k player, it up scales and wow! Although on the backside sheet it says 2k, I think it’s 1080p HD. But still! You can see the details! the dirt on his jacket! I mean, my LG 4k player plays everything beautifully anyways :D I’m so happy with this purchase and for 12 bucks too! Can’t beat that!

What a great movie, I wanted the Limited Edition, and you may want it to.

Extra scenes
This is the best version of the movie, with extra scenes added back to the movie that were deleted in the movie. The first DVD shows the shorter version that was shown at the movies. The second DVD has the extra scenes and is almost an hour longer.

3 Discs, 2 Cuts, 1 Great Set
I'm not one for steelbooks but I am one for getting all cuts of a movie when I can and this here nifty steelbook has both cuts of Costner's epic. I may be wrong but I think this is the only way to get them (at the moment) on blu. Either way, it's a great set that looks good on the shelf but also looks (and sounds) pretty freakin' fantastic when you pop it in. Get it while it lasts.

A real tear jerker!
It’s sad what happened to the great horse culture of the plains and Kostner told the story brilliantly,

Good steelbook but image is slightly blurry
So I double dipped because I love steelbooks and decided to order this when I was able to get it at a good price. The only concern for this is the image isn't super clear. It is slight, very slightly blurry. Enough where if you stare you can see the image is off somehow. Other then that it's a great steelbook and a great movie. I didn't see anywhere in the description or images and who knows how accurate it is but there is sticker on it that says it's limited to 10,000 copies. Which trust me, is very low amount. Happy with my purchase.

Beautiful release
I like Shout Factory releases. Steelbook illustration is very nice. There are 3 Blu-ray discs in region A. Release includes theatre and extended version of movie. 1 disc is bonus disc.

Liked this as it includes all the missing scenes and gives the movie a more rich storyline.
