The kit has everything you need to do the job. There are no instructions but the process is pretty self explanatory. It's an easy shell swap. I would just like to echo another reviewer who said keep your old parts because you might need them. When i put it together the first time the D-Pad stuck really bad. I put the old D-Pad rubber contact thing back in it and it worked just fine. Also pay attention to your screws. They are different lengths and the new screws are all Phillips head not Torx. Great product though. Highly recommend.

I recently found my old Gameboy color and everything worked… except the start button. Found a forum that said it could be the contacts under the buttons could be corroded and to clean them. I didn’t have the tools to take it apart to just buy the tool is a few dollars cheaper than this kit, but I figured I’d go ahead and replace all the buttons while I was in it. I cleaned all the contacts with alcohol and then put new buttons and new screws in it and everything works and looks great!

If you could use the old hardware and buttons. Do it. Buttons that come with kit are not as responsive as OEM. Everything else is great. Upgrade to backlight screen if you can while swapping out since you're taking it all apart anyways. Will make a world of difference in gameplay.

This is definitely not atomic purple, is more like frosted almost. The included sticker is a nice touch but it is smaller than the original. For how inexpensive it is I recommend it specifically if you’re cutting up your shell for mods. Keep your old buttons and use the pads.

Fits beautifully on my Gameboy included new screws, a 3 point screwdriver, and a new sticker as advertised. All the parts look like an original. Will buy more from this company in the future.

This shell has a terrible, cheap and rough feeling, not to mention that it did not include the tools and label as advertised. When assembled the shell will not close, forcing it down applies too much pressure to the board which could potentially damage it. I needed some shell parts in a hurry so I placed an order on this, if you're missing the lens, screws, or IR cover this set could work in a pinch without having to buy each part separately for $10, but if your looking to replace the shell of your Game Boy, you're looking at the wrong listing. Grab a used one for cheap on ebay or check out the high quality aftermarket ones from RetroSix or Hand Held Legend.

Ostent stuff seems to have a consistent quality. Really spruced up my old GB color and would buy shells from them again. Easy to swap and came with ell the bits and even the screwdrivers.

So its a great housing case. It looks og comes with all og stickers and everything. I only thing i want to complain about is that i got a scratched screen, which I was a little sad about. looks so good though. I would highly recommend it fits my gbc perfectly!!
