Do these go bad? my santa fe will no longer drop pellets. i replaced motor and no change. vents are clear. it starts and everything.

Yes. They go bad. You also might wanna check your auger motor. They go bad as well.

How do you reset this?

If they have a little button just push it in to reset, if they don't have a button they reset by cooling down.

how do you know when to replace this? What are the symptoms??

This type snap disc is a closed circuit in normal circumstances. When it is over heated it opens the circuit to cut power to the entire stove. If it is tripping it could be the stove or vent is dirty, the combustion blower is blocked or failing or the disc itself has failed. Pushing the button in the middle should reset it but if it doesn't it is failed and needs replacing.

Amaising little gadget

This little thing will be the one thing you overlook when troubleshooting a gremlin. It works wonderfully like it is supposed to now. It was the determining factor that determined its fate. From a 2002 model pellet stove that outperforms the new ones now.

Quadra Fire was a great help!

I ordered the part with help of Quadra Fire (they don't sell direct) and it worked perfectly!! 5 minutes to change ...literally only 5 minutes!! Up and running. My local dealer was of no help.
