Will these mate up to a gator? They are male and female pieces, correct?

They will mate up to the terminal posts that are included and yes they are male and female after terminals are inserted and locked. The four terminals are all the same (male) but it is the connectors that make it male/female. However, The terminal fittings DO NOT FIT A 2 GAUGE WIRE/CABLE!!! I had to have them drilled out and also countersunk to get my brand new 2 gauge battery cables to fit! THEY ARE CLEARLY NOT FOR 2 GAUGE WIRE, ONLY 4 GAUGE!

Is this a male and female half that can be fastened together

As answered in another question here, they are unisex. That means both halves are exactly the same. If you had happened to have three of these plugs, they still would all plug into each other.

I ordered a new set of aurelio-tect 2-4 awg 350a quick connect that does not fit my old connectors, have they change the design?

I purchased these plugs recently also.  These are the first plugs like these I have bought so I don't know if there is an earlier design.  I only answer you because I also had a problem with the plugs.  In my case, the solder lugs were already inserted in the housing.  How do you get them out?

I messed up and need two new terminal pins/posts. Where can I get more? I can't seem to find them anywhere and I don't want to buy this again...

Good luck, your best bet is a marine supply place but they treat them like gold, It's cheaper to reorder for the $16.00. Strange because Mine were only roughly $13.00
