What is the safety of the non-stick coating? is it ptfe, pfoa and bpa free? need an answer from wilton customer service, please.

Our nonstick coating is silicone polyester. Here is some additional information regarding the coating on our pans: • Wilton does not use Teflon non-stick coatings. • Wilton does not use any non-stick coatings manufactured by DuPont. • Wilton coatings have no intentionally added BPA, Lead, Cadmium, PFOA or PTFE • All Wilton non-stick coatings are safe up to 450 degrees F unless otherwise specified on product labeling All of our products are thoroughly tested and verified to meet applicable laws and regulations. In addition, each product undergoes extensive review by a team of safety experts and is tested by an independent lab.

If I have some slight scratches on the bottom of this pan over time, is it still safe to use?

Absolutely! Our products are made of FDA-approved, nontoxic materials. The only concern would truly be if the scratches were in the cavities where batter goes since if the coating is scratched and the metal is exposed it could have potential to rust in time. If the scratches on on the bottom and you dry your pan thoroughly, it should be fine!

I don’t use muffin cups, so if recipe states to spray with cooking oil, do I do that or forgo the oil with this pan (since they are “non-stick”)?

I always use oil because it can still stick with some recipes. Plus I think it helps protect the pan and causes less scratches when cleaning with the spray oils. Also remember it’s a dark pan so lower temperature to prevent burning. I hope this is helpful. I love all my Wilton pans.

I love this cupcake pan! I have already owned one of these for about 4 years, and it the best cupcake pan I have ever had. I wanted to have another of the exact same pan so I could bake more than 12 cupcakes at a time, and I finally found it here on Amazon, hooray! I use the pan for standard sized cupcakes and they are perfect for that. I have also done mince pies in them, and the non-stick coating is just brilliant for them. Nothing sticks to this pan, and after years of use, I haven't seen any deterioration in the quality of it. They are pretty heavy compared to the cheaper supermarket cupcake pans, but I don't feel like that causes any problems. My cakes bake more evenly in this pan than in cheaper ones I have owned, and I think that may be down to how thick the metal is in these pans for even heat distribution. My pan was shipped from America, and took just under 2 weeks to arrive, which I was very happy with.
