Trivia answer with explanations
I love this book. Actually the series. I have four different titles and 2 more on the way. They are all hard bound, nicely decorated, about 200 pages (guessing) and look presentable on a book shelf. All are the same size. This is a great gift as well. IDK how many I have gifted but it's substantial. I best describe it as a trivia Pursuit answers with explanations, The multitude of topics usually are explained in 2 or 3 paragraphs. It short enough to keep one interested. Solely about origins of words and phrases
Beautiful looking book… it’s just, it’s not at all what I expected. Random Oddities, I imagined it to be about weird and wonderful stories from around the world. Instead, it’s about the origins of words and phrases!? Confused and disappointed.

Dull as ditchwater
I thought this would be an interesting collection of entries to pass a few minutes with whenever I felt like picking it up. Unfortunately it has no spark to it. Don't waste your money.

Great book!
The book arrived with the contents bound upside down. Initially I assumed this was a manufacturing defect. Upon reflection, I have concluded it is the most committed title-page joke I have ever encountered. Five stars for thematic consistency.
