Can I use bits smaller than 2mm? Ideally down to 0.5mm?

The Dremel chucks supplied will only go down to 0.8mm. They are also very tedious to change with each new bit size. However is you buy the Dremel 4486 Quick Change Multi-Chuck (about £10) you can use bits from 3.4mm down to 0.4mm. Personally I only use this 4486 chuck as it is so convenient.

Yes this is what I bought it for...I use it to engrave my company name on steel platters and glass jugs and plates, crockery etc as I am a caterer and dont want things being stolen.The only thing is for me its a bit heavy. You need to restrain the items being engraved so they dont move about for a neat finish but with a bit of practice with different tool bits I bet you would get some lovely results.Hope this helps

Yes, this is such a powerful multi tool that it could be easily used to drill through small and medium sized pebbles!! I can imagine that a small masonry drill bit would be perfect for this and if you needed to drill slightly larger holes you could drill pilot holes, then enlarge them with a burr bit or larger bit or add a dremel multi chuck for even more flexibility in attachment pieces!! I have drilled small rocks and also polished medium sized pebbles using mine.
