The bugs die but the Flowtron doesn't
I live in Florida in a wooded area next to a marsh. We have mosquitos and no-see-ums, flying ants, and other bugs. The flying ants seem to be attracted by light. They are small enough to get through the window screens and any small openings around the doors or windows. They come in June and have invaded my house from time to time. It is now 2024. Back in 2018, I bought the very large 2-acre coverage Flowtron Bug Zapper. I hope that by keeping the house dark and having a very bright light away from the house, the ants would stay away. It worked. I have had no flying ant problems since installing the bug zapper. There seem to be fewer mosquitos too. In 2018, I set up the 2-acre bug zapper on the porch of a shed. The shed had a small overhanging roof. I attached it to a light sensor that turned on the light at dusk and turned it off at dawn. It ran every night from June 2018 to Fall 2023, surviving a hurricane, many heavy Florida thunderstorms, and the daily heat & humidity of Florida. There are not as many bugs in the winter, so I did not replace it until May. This time I choose the smaller 1-acre zapper. When I plugged it in, it didn't work. I finally figured out that the dusk/dawn sensor was broken. I replaced that and found out that the 2-acre zapper was also still working. So now both are up and running. The bad side is that these zappers needlessly kill a lot of moths / The good side is the zapped bugs fall on the deck, and each morning at sunrise, birds come and eat BBQ bugs. / If I were to do this again, I would buy two 1-acre zappers instead of the one 2-acre bug zapper.

This is the best zapper I have used yet.
This is the best zapper I have used yet. I bought one, and was so impressed that I bought two more for my sons at their houses. Really helped with the night bugs and mosquitos, We couldn't make up our minds if the mosquito bait helped or not. It didn't stop crackling for several hours after turning it on, and there was hardly any pests left. Wish it worked better on gnats, It gets a lot of them, but not all. Also, I wish they had a bait to draw cluster flies into it.

This is a must have if you love sitting outside
This mosquito whacker is a lifesaver. I love sitting out on my patio and not have to worry about mosquitoes coming near me as the special light attracts them and zaps them far from me. This Zapper works great.

Powerful, Reliable, and Extremely Effective
The Flowtron Bug Zapper works exceptionally well and does exactly what it promises. From the first night, it made a noticeable difference in reducing mosquitoes and flying insects around our outdoor space. The coverage area is impressive, and you can immediately tell it’s powerful. The build quality is solid and durable, making it perfect for patios, backyards, and camping areas. Setup was quick and easy, and maintenance is minimal thanks to the removable tray for easy cleaning. It runs quietly and efficiently, so it doesn’t distract from enjoying the outdoors. What really stands out is how dependable it is—once it’s on, it consistently keeps bugs under control without the need for sprays or chemicals. If you spend time outside and want a proven, effective solution, this Flowtron bug zapper is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended for anyone tired of battling insects!

So satisfying!
i love the little zap noise and sparkle when a bug gets hit. Fun to watch the snap, crackle and pop on a busy night! I never even used the included attractant - the light seemed to be enticement enough. The protective cage around the bulbs can become clogged and it needs to be cleaned out periodically. I just used my electric blower gently and that seems to work. I hang this outside my horse barn during mosquito season and set it on a timer. I am happy with this zapper and will likely buy one for my back yard next bug season!

Easy to use, reduces bug problem
I've had a couple of kinds of expensive machines that require propane tanks and are prone to needing repairs, so I decided to try these bug zappers. They seem to cut down on the mosquito population and they're inexpensive compared to the fancy machines. I have a large property, so I have 3 of them up. It's impossible to eliminate all the mosquitos in this area, but they help, and the difference in what it takes to maintain them is why I'll continue with them.

We bought the 1 acre and half acre versions. Both have done a great job of managing the mosquito population in our yard and the adjacent neighbours' yards. The major advantage of the 1 acre version is that it will vaporize nearly everything that reaches it. This results in absolutely no need to clean it. The half acre version needs a few taps every day to remove a lot of bugs stuck to the grid. Keep in mind that they are not quiet - especially when turning a large moth into a strange smelling cloud of smoke.

I am quite pleased! Sure, after a month there's still mosquitos and black flies flying about but holy what a difference. We can actually go outside onto the yard without spraying down first. And there is something oddly satisfying when you are out in the tent and here the *CRACK* of a big one. I expect it'll take a while for the overall population to go down but its making a huge difference and zaps something about once a second all night long; Which the sparrows have discovered and will perch on the side to big cooked bugs off! I keep trying to get a pic but they fly off faster than I can get my camera phone out. Oh, and a little handheld air compressor works great at cleaning the dead bugs off (Which after 2 days in my yard the light is totally obscured by carcasses).

As soon as it was plugged in it started killing any insect that came near it. The photo is after the first night so you can see it was doing its job. There are a collection of dead bugs that stick to the grate surrounding the bulbs but they are easily blown off. It seems to be doing what we bought it to do.

La cartouche d’attraction anti-moustique inclus dans la boîte était manquante! J’ai dû débourser 24.99$ pour m’en procurer une. Probablement du vol car, car j’ai la boîte original. Je suis déçu!
