Testors Flat Aluminum Enamel Paint

Bought this to use as a “color fill” for a watch bezel. It worked amazing. I applied the paint with a toothpick and overfilled the numbers then scraped the extra off with a sharpened toothpick once dried. It gave excellent and clean results. Very easy to apply, and very easy to clean up. I can tell it’s “mat” and not “gloss” too which is what I was after. Worked so well I did my mom’s ring after.

I've been using Testors enamels for decades, but recently the trend is moving to hide the contents of the bottle in the tiniest of print among four labels. I see there's a bar code on one of the labels that I could scan and probably find out if it's gloss black or flat black. Very clever. I have forty of these things and scanning a bar code every time I need a color is not a convenience. Love the paint, but hate the packaging.

I have used Testors flat black model paint for years, I use it on my jewelry in the crevasess ( sterling silver). I wear a lot of celtic and skull jewelry where you can paint inside the designs and eyes ect. A jewler friend of mine told me how to use it. (You need a well ventilated area), use small artist paint brush, put four coats on (waiting two hours between coats or longer,) I use nail polish remover ( the kind for natural nails) for clean up on the brush and the jewelry. I use a Q-tip to wipe up excess right after painting and the nail polish remover after the paint has dried of excess using the Q-tip with the nail polish remover. The nail polish remover is easy on your jewelry (do not use on plated jewelry) When you are done you have a very nice enameled black look that will last forever. I shower in my jewelry with hot water, it dose not hurt it, The Testors paint is really great paint. I clean my jewelry with a jewelry cloth made for sterling silver, I only have to touch up the paint every few years or so. I have cleaned my jewelry in liquid jewelry cleaner made for sterling silver, but the touch up has to be done more often and it is really not good for the paint. I will keep buying this paint for as long as I wear jewelry, which will be forever. Amazon has the best price for this Testors paint I can find. Be sure to get the -flat- kind, much better look then glossy. Good luck.
