## **The $40 DIY Resurrection: Replacing the Jump-N-Carry Battery** **Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)** I’ve owned my **Jump-N-Carry JNC660** for years, and it has made me look like a "knight in shining armor" more than a few times—jumping my own car and strangers' cars at least a dozen times successfully. But eventually, the built-in rechargeable battery hit its limit. It stopped holding a charge; I’d plug it into the wall and it would just blink at me, which isn't exactly helpful when you’re stranded. ### **The AAA Reality Check** I realized the battery was dead on a freezing Monday morning in February after my car had sat for a week. To make matters worse, I found out my AAA membership had lapsed because I forgot to update my credit card info. They wanted **$160 for a one-time jump**, which is absolute insanity. A local tow truck wanted $50, and I knew exactly what that guy was going to show up with: a JNC unit just like mine. Instead of paying for a single jump, I decided to spend **$40 on a replacement battery** and fix it myself. ### **The "Easy-Bake" Installation** Replacing the battery was a fun, 45-minute project. Be prepared to remove a lot of screws, but it’s a straightforward swap. The only minor hurdle was that the terminals on the new rechargeable battery were a bit smaller and more "flimsy" than the original beefy ones. The original screws wouldn't fit through the new holes, and the screws that came with the new battery were short, leaving very little wiggle room. It was a tight fit, but with a little focus, I got it locked down. ### **Performance & Value** The experiment worked. The unit charges perfectly now and has already jumped a car without a hitch. If you have a car in that **8 to 10-year range**, especially in the winter when the cold kills battery life, having one of these in your trunk is common sense. You don't need a brand-new car, but you do need to be self-sufficient. ### **The Verdict** Don't throw the whole unit away just because the battery died. For forty bucks and less than an hour of work, you can resurrect your JNC and avoid those predatory "emergency service" fees. It’s a great piece of gear, and being able to fix it yourself makes it even better.

Please read my review completely to the end. Open your old jump box and see the battery connection before ordering. Make sure you order the AGM battery and 22AH the same as original JNC660 battery. this battery was EXACT FIT, and it was 100% charged out of the box, but still placed it on the NOCO GENIUS 10 battery charger, before installation. Keep the JNC660 plugged after installation. Installation is easy, just make sure to have double sided tape. the price is almost a third of the new jnc660 and worth every penny. Remember to disulfate the battery every year, by connecting the desulfating charger to the positive and negative clamp of the JNC660, and add many years to its life.

I’d give 20 stars if I could! We’ve replaced the batteries on my Mobility Scooter several times and have NEVER had battery life like this! We'll use it all day and it maybe drops one green dot. We’re constantly amazed. Others would drop so fast, often with little warning, one minute it said fully charged the next it was flashing red and dead in minutes. Hubs had to push me back to the hotel or cruise ship more than once. But these are a whole new ball game and we’re so grateful for such a good product. Thank you!!

I use these batteries to refurbish cat jump boxes they work very very well the cat jump box at half mast will still jump a car an amazing

although the batteries were slightly charged I had to do a charge to have the100percent of the units available. The batteries were delivered in a very well protected box, attention to setail is important… just for that alone I have to give them the 5 stars. good solid enclosures and the poles are up to gwneral standards for batteries of this size. Very quick on the delivery. Nice units overall. Will see on the life expectancy and maybe in a year I will update the review… sofar a great product…

ABSOLUTELY Not equivalent to the original JNC-660 jump box. This battery is very weak and mounts differently than the original JNC-660. This output on this "Mightmax" battery is less than 50% compared to a 2 year old genuine JNC battery in my other jump box measures. This jump battery will not start any 4 cylinder I have tried it on unless the battery is already partially charged. Customer service is HORRIBLE - I think it is either Ai, or some very ignorant person working for them. And this battery is self-discharging so it's dead every time I go to get the jump box.

Used this to replace failing battery in a Catapiller jump starter (cj1000dcp) I bought from Costco. The original was a 19AH, but this 22AH fit without issue and provides a tad more battery backup.

Great product, arrived on time. Very happy with it.

My motomaster eliminator 400w power box/jump starter Battery would not hold any charge after 10 years, so I simply directed it and replaced the old battery with this new one. This new battery even has 2 more amp hours (22) than old one (20) works like new now! At a fraction of the cost.

I purchased this battery in oct 2024, it is not good as it no longer holds or take a charge. However after contacting the sellers support they were able to help and sent a replacement battery. They acted swiftly and where very understanding. Great support, I will update once the replacement battery arrives and see how it holds up.
