AS10 IEM’s, the very best from KZ, amazing clear sound
Presentation of the KZ AS10: the box differs from earlier KZ models, the AS10 comes in a sober, elegant black cardboard box with the KZ logo and winged top, in which the IEM’s are placed in a hard foam support and labeled Left and Right, with a classy engraved plate with the KZ logo and the model description. The unboxing is pleasant The foam plate can be easily lifted with the attached black ribbon, underneath the foam plate 2 plastic bags containing the silicone tips (3 pairs in total, S-M-L , the IEM’s come with the Medium size tips attached), and the cable. Also included are the manual, warranty card and a small certificate of authenticity. The braided cable feels better compared to earlier KZ models, is not sticky, is flexible and have a good feeling to the touch, is clearly marked L and R at the plugs, 3.5 stereo L bending jack, contacts and jack are gold plated, the cable is about 120 cm in length, the KZ .75 mm 2 pin plugs connect seamlessly and easy to the AS10 IEM’s socket. The cable have a memory wire next to the 2 pin connectors covered in a transparent tube, the memory wire make a perfect fit to any shape of ears and help to keep the AS10 IEM’s in place. The shells of the AS10 are light weight, a little bit smaller compared to other KZ similar models, the nozzle maybe a little bit longer, what in my opinion make the KZ AS10 more comfortable to wear for longer times, shells are made from durable plastic, well put together, clean, without signs of glue spills, I got the black color model which have a translucent front and a black back, engraved with the model number and left and right marks. Isolation in this KZ model is also better than earlier models, and sound leak is lower than other IEM’s. When it comes to sound, is slightly V shaped, Highs are detailed, not piercing, maybe a little rolled-off, but without affecting the overall clarity, Mids are in the warm side, a little lower than neutral, female and male voices sound clean and crisp, Low ranges are well balanced and punchy with no distortion and don’t overpower the overall sound of the music and voices. Soundstage is wide and natural with good definition and separation of instruments were details are clear and defined. As always the appreciation of the sound quality of earphones is subjective and related to personal taste, I recommend to hear good quality recordings. I tried them with diverse musical genres with optimal result, my favorites are usually classical, percussion, electronic, jazz and vocals depending of the mood of the day. No distortion or muddiness was noticed. The KZ AS10 IEM’s sound good since I first tried, being a low impedance IEM’s they sound great with smartphones as well as music players. I used the AS10 with the desktop and laptop computers getting an excellent result in sound quality, this IEM’s also have an amazing volume level, I used them with Samsung, Nokia and iPhone smartphones and Mp3 players. In low quality recordings I used the help of equalizer to balance the sound, and it was well accepted by the AS10. Also watching a movie in the computer or tablet with the AS10 give me the sensation of being in a movie theater with a good surround sound system. As conclusion I can say that the AS10 is ahead of previous KZ models, with an clear and balanced sound and they can compare to more expensive IEM’s but having an affordable price, they are quality built and nice looking. I consider the KZ AS10 a must in any audiophile collection because of their capability to reproduce Hi-Fi sound. I am very pleased and surprized with the AS10 performance and comfortable wear. Because all the above-mentioned, I rate the KINBOOFI KZ AS10 with 5 stars

UPDATED UPDATE....
UPDATE to my UPDATE: I was so tempted to delete my first update... or this whole thing and start over out of pure embarrassment. I'm a professional and know sound, but apparently not my new laptop so much *insert eyeroll*. In short, since this whole review is far too long, I again stand by my original review on the 1st of 3 pairs of KZ AS10's; Incredible pair of iems. The 2nd pair, there was definitely something wrong with them. On stage and off there was a notable problem. The 3rd pair, I have admittedly not tried on stage yet (just got them today). I only plugged them into my newer laptop, and turned on Spotify. Although they were better than the damaged 2nd pair, something still wasn't right as I said. Something in the back of my brain was not sitting right with this however. I knew that my iems and other headphones I own could only be as good as limitations of the device they are operating from. Nothing I plugged into this laptop seemed to sound good. Didn't make sense. Its a new gaming ASUS FX705 laptop. The sound capabilities are going to better than others (one of the reasons I purchased it; for recording purposes). I fished, searched, Googled... and finally found it. Opened up the DTS HeadphoneX EQ and BOOM!!!! I jumped (iems were in my ears with music playing). Daaaang, now THAT's what I remember from the original pair of AS10 I bought! Superior stuff right there, y'all. So relieved. Let this be a lesson -- Your iems can only work their full potential if what you have them plugged into allows it. Now go plug these into something awesome and dance a little :) UPDATE: I stand by my original review of the (red) KZ A10's I purchased. Only problem is that I sold them to another musician because I decided I wanted the green color. No big deal, I thought. Sold them in about 5 minutes of posting, and purchased the new exact same pair in the green color. Received them quickly, plugged them in... but something wasn't right. That new pair seemed off and not as full as the pair I had just sold and used. I thought maybe I had gotten use to the first pair being completely burned in. so I burned the new pair in, used them on stage a few times, and finally had it. I took 'em home, plugged into my laptop and flipped on Spotify and realized the bass was not only missing as I suspected, but the top end was "raping my ears", as another reviewer so eloquently stated. I hoped that something was just defective with this pair, and sent them back... after ordering a $35 updated cord first to see if that helped. It did a smidge, but there was definitely something wrong with the ears themselves. I immediately ordered another green pair and they arrived quickly (Thank you, Amazon), plugged these new jobbies in and... yeah, No. The bass is missing again. Not nearly as bad as before, but for a 5 driver, its almost like the #1 & #2 bass drivers just aren't functioning, and seems to distort when any sort of bass hits. And, I don't mean like hip hop, thumping bass, just the normal range stuff. And once again, the high end also seems more abrasive than the original pair. Not sure what I am going to do at this point. I still think the separation and clarity of these iem's are amazing and unmatched to anything I've used before, however these bass and sharp treble negatives might outweigh the positives. Order yet Another pair? Try buying the Red color again and see if for some odd reason, they are just different??? They shouldn't be, but who knows. At any rate, after owning 3 pairs, I can definitely say they haven't been consistent which leaves me hesitant to recommend these anymore. Good luck, and I'm interested to see how this model plays out over time with other users. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I'm a musician and vocalist and I need iem's for their intended purpose... live/stage performance use. I stuck these bad boys in my ears the first time and wanted to just cry from joy and relief. I have owned and used some really bad trash and some okay but satisfactory ears in my time, and these are what I've been after but thought I couldn't afford. I don't have the cash flow for 1964's or UE's, and Westone 10's and Shure 215's have done the job just fine, but these KZ A10's are soooo much better AND Cheaper. I have, until now, not used such incredible sounding ears in this price range... or even several ranges above that. If you are on stage, in a band, you know how important it is to hear each instrument or voice clearly, cleanly, no muddiness. These do all that with detail I didn't know I missing before. There is ALSO a warmth that comes out of these that isn't fake sounding, overwhelming or mushy. There is just the right amount of Bass. I realize we don't want thumping subs in our stage iem's but it's definitely there and somehow doesn't overpower. I use these to enjoy my favorite Spotify playlists too and totally love them in this setting as well. The detail is amazing and I highly recommend these to anyone who needs quality but can't drop the funds for other ridiculously priced ears. -- Michelle

The Hidden GEM (I mean IEM)
Where do I begin? If you search Amazon for In Ear Monitors or IEM, you get quite a few. I was on a quest to find the diamond in the rough for under $100. I own more than a few IEMs, some I still own, and some I have sold after I bought these. These have 4 BA (Balanced Armatures) and 1 DD (Dynamic Driver - similar to the one in your dynamic headphones but smaller to fit the IEM form factor.). So I thought I’d try them out. I have or had (since I sold them) some very expensive IEMs with similar configurations of BAs and DD. What I love about these, and I rarely use IEMs for pure listening as headphones generally sound better, is that these sound almost as good as full sized headphones. The bass is full but does not muddy the low mids or even the mids like others I have/had, the mids are not scooped like musician IEMs more focused for performing live on stage, and the highs are very present without sounding brittle and harsh like some IEMs that accentuate the highs as they have a V shaped sound. These are closer to reference IEMs where it is almost flat. They reproduce music as it is intended to be heard by the producer and engineer who mixed the song. If you want a bass heavy, high boosted IEMs, these are not it. Go get a set of Beats. But if you want to hear your music fairly accurately, these are your IEMs. I do have one minor negative (more personal than the product itself) about this but they can be quickly remedied by 2 minor upgrades. One, get a foam based ear tips sized for your ears. The tips that come with the unit are okay, but because they are a rubbery material, and everyone’s ears actually are slightly different from left and right ears, I need something that has the subtle variance which foam tips can handle. They’re available at about $20 for 3 pairs. The second one is not a negative or a con, but I like balanced cables over single ended (unless I don’t have a choice because my phone only offers single ended connection), so I upgraded the cable to a balanced cable. The combination of foam ear tips and balanced cables took this IEM to another level. It beat out a few of my IEMs priced significantly higher (I don’t like mentioning brands I have replaced, but one of them was about $500.) Now is this better than my $1000+ IEMs? No, because my high end IEMs have 8 BA (Balanced armatures) per ear, and that would not be fair to compare. Though, KZ, if you’re reading this, I’m more than happy to compare your KZ AS16 IEMs against my $1000+ 8 BA per ear IEMs. But for a total cost of about $100 with the 2 upgrades, I am able to get a very solid reference IEM with amazing sound quality. Hands down, this is my go to pair of IEMs when I do use them for travel or even for reference checks of my mix downs. If you’re also looking for that diamond in the rough, these are it. Check these out without breaking the bank, but do yourself a favor and order at least the foam tips with this, and you may be pleasantly surprised like me. Very comfortable, great build quality, enjoyable audio, and the stock cables are very good. Your taste may vary from mine. Hope this helps.

Had mine since 2021!!!
I've had my pair since 2021. I use them when I do praise and worship at my church. They are phenomenal. I am going to purchase another pair because, unfortunately, I need to retire my current set.

Good for the price
First, I will preface my review by saying this is my first experience with IEMS that have multiple balanced armature drivers. My only other experience has been with sub $200 dynamic driver IEMS. For the price what you get is hard to beat. I have no complaints with the build quality, and even with their large size, they fit comfortably in my ears. However, the included silicon ear tips do have a tendency to slowly slip out of my ears. This can be remedied by any of the available third party foam ear tips. Sound quality is good. The level of detail these drivers put out is impressive for the price, while the soundstage is simply average (You can definitely tell the sound is being piped into your ears). I can't call the sound signature neutral, although I think it tries to be. It is a little warm and the treble rolls off a little too quickly for my taste. Bass: Anything lower than 35hz disappears while everything lower 60hz is a tad quiet, but the quality is still good. Still, I find I can get adequate rumble and thump from the low driver while maintaining layer separation except when in cases with many heavy bass layers. The low-mids are a bit warm, which is fine if that is something you enjoy. Mids: I don't have much to say about the mids except that the slightly warm boost in the tuning of the drivers can cover up a little detail here. Otherwise I am pleased. Treble: While after about 14khz everything rolls off sharply, the treble that is produced is detailed and clear. I found my pair of KZs had some spikes in frequency response around 8-9khz and 11khz, which could just be the result of the shape of my ear canal. Whatever the cause, the result is that these earphones come close to being neutral, but there appears to be some areas where the tuning could still be improved. Now, I do not only want to pick apart at the sound signature. These are pleasant headphones to listen to with a nice slightly warm sound signature and a higher level of detail than what most will expect from this price range. In fact, the main reason I bring up my observations about what is lacking in driver tuning is because I think a lot of them can be helped with a little eq. Now, if you have a listening set up wear you can use a frequency analyzer and a PEQ you could really dial these KZs in, but personally for my casual listening experience I can solve about 90 percent of my complaints on the regular GEQ that comes on most smartphones by by boosting the sub-lows about 3db (around 60hz), cutting the low-mids (between 200-300hz) a few db, and giving a slight boost to 16khz (just my personal preference). Even without an eq, I am impressed with these IEMs and prefer them over the pair of Yamaha EPH-100s I bought years ago for twice the price.

For the price, top notch!
I need to mention that I purchased a set of higher end KZs a while back and returned then because the sound was horrible. But I did something different with these and it made a world of difference. I play guitar in a cover band and have been using Shure in ears and the quality sucks. I made some custom ear molds and it helped a lot, but the sound quality was still lacking. I decided to get a cheaper set of KZs and try them with molds. Last night was the first practice using them and it was instantly obvious I should have done this with the previous set of KZs. The sounds quality and range was so obvious and better, I kept talking about them to my band mates (I'm sure they were getting sick of it). I made custom molds using moldable ear plug molds. Got the stuff on amazon for 10 bucks which is dirt cheap and you'll have enough to make 2 sets. Just search YouTube and you'll be set.

Amazing value
I've used these for more than 18 months as my "daily drivers" for IEMs on stage, at home listening to music and podcasts, and for all my conference calls for work. Sound quality is stellar. My favorite tips are the silicone ones provided by the manufacturer; I have 3rd party foam tips that are good also. IEMs - I play bass and it is critical for me to be able to hear separation and clarity in the sound from our drummer, guitarists, and singers, but most of all my own sound, on a very quiet stage. I bought some $200 Sennheiser earbuds before this and always had trouble with distinguishing different midrange sources, and never could get enough bass frequencies during performances, despite trying all kinds of different tips. Those IA80s were disappointing because music at home and during workouts sounded wonderful, but they didn't work for stage use. Maybe it was an impedance thing. I don't have the greatest ear but these AS10s have worked as well as some Shure monitors I used many times in the same setting, with the same wireless pack. The Shures are definitely less bulky and a bit more stable in the ear, but they cost $500 also. Durability - I've never had to replace the wire/cable. Seems insane for something so inexpensive.

KZ ZSX, VS Tin T3, vs, BLON -03, vs TFZ T2, vs, KZ- AS10
I tested these IEMs with my IFI DSD BLACK LABEL as DAC, and then with my Sony Walkman NW-WM1A.I on 44 balance connection. I also have the Beyer Dynamic DT 1990 PRO headphones for comparison. First, LETS GET IT OUT OF THE WAY.. KZ AS10- is very boomy/bassy. a little muffled. So this IEM is not the best any more!!!( im returning this!!) .... KZ ZSX . great IEM! Well balance.. great bass,, great mids.. good plus treble,, ( im keeping this!),, TFZ T2,, its almost equal to KZ ZSX, with bit higher tone on the mids going towards the highs on certain tracks. , but i would say great IEM also!( im debating to keep it or not as they are almost equal to the ZSX), ,,, Tin T3,, Good Bass, Great Mids,, Great Highs,( and with IFI DSD Hardware Xbass turn on.,,. PERFECT SOUND with great bass!).( im keeping this!)... BLON- 03,,, great bass, great clear mids..good Highs, but for 38 freaking dollars, great sounding overall !!! ( im keeping this!!)..pls note i bought and replace the cables T( trip win 8 cores mostly) and one yin yoo 16 cores, and replaced the tips with memory foams.. except the TIN 3, it came with a memory foam already.. , I like listening to different types of music.. including Hip hop, R and B.. pop music, 80;s!.. dance music, house music, classical ,, at times., new age music., 70s and 80s and 90s bands.. 50s and 60s too My music files are : DSD files, FLAC 16/44, 24/88, 24/96, 24/192. Go for it. Value for money
Balance sound signature. Value for money. I have used tin t2 pro which is very sharp compared to this, though this has warm sound signature and feels good. If you have any other expensive IEM, you should compare the sound with KZ AS 10 and see it for yourself.

Great purchase no complaints.
Bought and tested a few IEMs today. This one is my favorite. Honestly I wasn't impressed by the sound signature when I first put them in. I found it to be a bit flat and recessed. The more I put them through their paces the more impressed I was. They sound good in all genres of music. They are very non fatiguing. You can listen to them all day without getting irritated. Yes they sound great. Good frequency response across the spectrum. They has less bass response than some of KZ hybrid models but if there and it's clean. Like the bass on Sennheiser HD 650s. Present but not over rumbly. I would recommend these over any of the cheaper model's. The extra few bucks is worth it.
