Would this work with Li-Ion 3.6v batteries? I imagine the higher voltage would make the blender twice as fast/powerful, which could be great.

No it won't blend ice. It has a hard time with my protein powder.

does anybody use this for just the vortexing of water and notice any difference in taste from non vortexed water?

I can't say that there is a taste difference in my triple-filtered water before and after vortexing. I bought mineto infuse energy into the water when vortexing and also to mix my powdered supplements.

How do you clean the "inner lid"? most people that gave bad reviews are about not being able to clean part of the lid or inner seal...

I he the same time. I'm using the second one I purchased and I'm making sure I clean it right away. The first one I soaked in hot water. I think it is more a stain then not being clean.
