Product description Review: Love baseball. - I enjoyed this as a kid and looking forward to playing again. Review: This is not a sim, but it's still pretty fun - Base on Board: Lite (is that actually the name?) does a solid job of translating the pitcher–batter mind game into something quick and approachable. At its core, you’re rolling dice to resolve plays, then layering in offense, defense, and challenge cards to swing the outcome in your favor. The mobile app element adds a modern touch, helping track outcomes and streamline some of the bookkeeping, so the game keeps moving instead of getting bogged down. It ends up feeling like a back-and-forth duel where every at-bat has a bit of tension. Simple to pick up, but with enough decisions to keep things interesting. What works best here is how accessible it is without feeling totally shallow. The rules are easy to learn, and the game is clearly designed so casual players or even non-gamers can jump in, while still offering meaningful choices each inning. That said, it doesn’t go super deep into statistical realism or full-season simulation the way heavier baseball games do, so hardcore sim fans might find it a little light. I pined for full, real rosters, but this is not that kind of game. That, and there’s still a noticeable element of luck from the dice, even with card play helping to mitigate it. Though the production quality is good and components are durable, I do have to knock the use of a mobile app, too. I know this topic can be divisive among board gamers, but I'm in the camp who sits down to play board games into order to unplug. Games that require an app are less appealing to me. I suspect I'm in the minority in that regard, but I put it out there regardless. Overall, this is a good fit for baseball fans who want a fast, head-to-head strategy game that captures the feel of the sport without requiring a massive time investment. It’s especially well-suited for casual game nights, families, or players who like a mix of tactics and chance. On the flip side, if you’re looking for a deeply granular simulation or something that recreates full team management and stats, this probably won’t scratch that itch. It's not the sim I would have liked - they can be pretty expensive these days - but it's still a solidly fun game with a good baseball feel.

Unique Baseball Tabletop Game with Realistic Gameplay and Smart App Integration
This tabletop baseball game is a really unique and engaging experience, especially for baseball fans. The concept of turning the box itself into a mini baseball field is clever and immediately makes the game feel immersive right out of the start. The gameplay feels surprisingly realistic. The use of three twelve-sided dice to represent pitching, batting, and outcomes adds a level of strategy and probability that actually mirrors real baseball in a fun, accessible way. Combined with the strategy cards, there’s a good balance between luck and decision-making. The component quality is solid. The cards are durable, the dice feel well made, and everything included gives it a premium feel. It doesn’t come across as a gimmick—there’s real thought put into how the game plays and feels. One of the standout features is the mobile app integration. It’s easy to use and adds a modern touch by tracking stats, counts, and game progress. It enhances the experience without being required, which is a nice balance between traditional and digital gameplay. The game works well for a variety of players. It’s approachable enough for beginners but still has enough depth to keep more experienced players interested. It’s also a great option for group settings, whether that’s family time, game nights, or even baseball fans during the off-season. Overall, this is a creative, well-designed, and highly functional game that delivers a fun and immersive baseball experience. For the quality of components, gameplay depth, and app features, it offers great value for money and stands out as something different from typical board games.

Fun and Strategic Baseball Board Game with a Learning Curve
This is a really neat board game that brings the feel of baseball right to your tabletop. My family isn’t made up of huge baseball fans, but we do enjoy watching a game now and then, and we all had a good time playing this. One nice feature is the flexibility—you don’t have to commit to a full nine-inning game and can shorten the experience if you want a quicker session. The gameplay itself leans toward realism, with relatively low odds of hits and runs, similar to real baseball. While this adds authenticity, it can sometimes feel like scoring is a bit too difficult. The strategy elements are a big highlight. The cards add depth by allowing plays like stolen bases, pickoffs, and double plays, which keeps things engaging. The physical components are also well made—the board is sturdy, the cards are thick and durable, and there’s even a dedicated area for rolling the dice so they don’t scatter everywhere. The companion app is a helpful addition, making it easier to track things like pitch count and score during gameplay. It is translated from Japanese, and while there are a few untranslated bits, it’s still fairly intuitive to use. One drawback is the instructions, which are somewhat vague. Since the game is relatively new, there aren’t many tutorials available yet. I actually found the most helpful guidance on the game’s Kickstarter page, which has several walkthrough videos covering different aspects of gameplay. Overall, this is a fun and well-designed board game with a good mix of realism and strategy. It may take a little effort to learn at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s a great experience—especially for baseball fans or anyone looking for something a bit different.

Fun and Surprisingly Realistic Baseball Game
This baseball strategy game is a lot more immersive than expected. The dice, cards, and app work together really well to create realistic gameplay with plenty of strategy. It’s easy enough for casual players but still engaging for serious baseball fans. Great choice for family game night or anyone who loves baseball simulations!

Fun multiplayer baseball game
This is a fun game and if you like or love baseball this is the game for you. I gave this 4 stars because the instructions are not great. And there is very little online support or how to play instructions. It could be the instructions are translated to English and so there may be a little lost in translation. The biggest hang up was how to play the cards or how they are dealt out. There are offensive and defensive cards. The instructions tell you to draw four cards and then discard all at the changing of the innings. But in one inning each team will play both offense and defense. This is vague because you’ll have offensive cards depending on when you play but will have to switch. I believe the instructions should read “when changing from offense to defense during game, discard your current hand, reshuffle and deal 4 new cards of the side (offense or defense) you are now playing.” This will allow you to have the proper cards in your hand while playing offense or defense. I would also suggest making copies of the dice icon sheets as it would speed the game up a bit. Otherwise you are constantly going back and forth to sheet to decipher the play. I think once you play it a couple times you’ll start to recognize and learn the icons. It’s a fun game, I like the interaction with the app, it’s makes tracking the game fun. It’s very baseball focused and has a good amount of twist and strategy. It’s built well and the cards are nice and solid. Great multiplayer game

Pricey!
This board game is made well of quality materials. Playing the game can be difficult for someone who is not familiar with baseball and it’s rules. After you play several games it gets easier learning the intent of the different cards and dice colors. It’s not a game you want to pull out on game night as a surprise as it may take your entire night to play 9 innings but you can shorten the innings if you want. It does have an app you can down load that will help you to track the moves. My biggest complaint is the price- I would never pay $75 for a board game. Lose one star for complicated moves and one for price.

A Surprisingly Immersive Baseball Game for the Tabletop
This tabletop baseball game does an impressive job of capturing the strategy and excitement of a real matchup in a compact, easy‑to‑play format. The combination of the three twelve‑sided dice and the large set of strategy cards gives each inning a sense of unpredictability and depth, making every decision feel meaningful. The gameplay flows smoothly once you get used to the mechanics. The strategy cards add a lot of personality, letting players make bold calls, react to unexpected plays, and shape the momentum of the game. It never feels repetitive because the dice rolls, card choices, and shifting situations create new scenarios every time. The mobile app integration is a great touch. It speeds up scorekeeping, helps track stats, and adds helpful prompts so the rules are easy to follow. For players who enjoy season‑style play, the app keeps everything organized in a way that feels streamlined rather than overwhelming. The components themselves—dice, cards, and board—have a solid, quality feel. The artwork is clean and thematic without being distracting. Everything packs neatly into a size that makes it easy to bring to game nights. Fans of baseball will appreciate how well the game captures the spirit of the sport, while still being accessible to people who just like strategy board games. For ages 12 and up, it hits that sweet spot where it’s engaging without being too complicated. If you’re looking for a tabletop experience that blends sports, strategy, and replayability, this game delivers a surprisingly realistic and fun take on baseball right on your table.
