Iris Kennedy didn't write this book from a library. She wrote it watching her father — diagnosed with type 2 diabetes — struggle to find a diet that worked with his changing blood sugar, not against it. No cookbook gave him a real system. So she built one. Iris brings her background in nutrition, yoga, and breathwork into every page — the same principles she applies daily in her own wellness practice. WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT Every day your blood sugar is different. Most diabetic cookbooks ignore that. This easy, beginner-friendly system is built around it — with three levels, each matched to your glucose today. [YELLOW] MAIN BOOK For adults managing prediabetes (100-125 mg/dL). A Great New Cookbook for My Collection and My Health
A very well-organized and practical cookbook. I previewed it onine and knew I needed to have this in my collecttion. It's much more than a collection of recipes—it provides an easy-to-follow system that helps you make food choices based on your blood sugar that is very useful for beginners. Most important I won't buy a cookbook unless there are pictures and this one has geat photos so I can see what my end result is suppose to look like:)The recipes are simple, appealing, and include all the nutritional information you need without being overwhelming. The meal plans, substitution ideas, and the extra sections on dining out, travel, and healthy habits are a huge plus for me. The chair exercises for seniors were a thoughtful bonus that you don't often find in cookbooks.

Simple recipes and easy to follow
This book has simple low-sugar meals and clearer guidance on what to eat. Everything is explained in plain English, the shopping tips are great, and the 8 week plan makes it easy to start. The recipes are super simple to follow with normal ingredients, but I thought that some of them were a bit plain unless you add some herbs and spice. Also some menus repeat, which was not great but makes planning easier. Overall it’s a useful book and easy to follow.

Easy reciepes
I really loved the book., it’s well made. It’s pretty straightforward. Simple and fast recipes. First time seen celery with almond butter and I loved the idea. Great photos. Lots of new ideas for cooking for me.

It has some flaws
The book is nice in general, but has some flaws. It provides a nice overview of diabetes and prediabetes, along with suggestions on how to gradually change eating habits. It even offers a section of realistic exercising to incorporate into your life. The negative is that several of the recipes do not match their title descriptions. I don’t like that. If this was a book that I’d purchased for myself, I might be willing to “overlook” that. However, it was intended as a gift, so I’ll be returning it.

bang for your buck!
The amount of recipes you get with this book is amazing. It has full photos to show the look for every recipe and the full recipe list. My favorite part is that the book includes tips and suggestions for staying on track with your diet plan!

Overall a decent book to add to my collection.
Good intro to how to address foods that support this lifestyle. One highlight is the "customization" or options to tweak a given recipe. Obviously does not apply to all recipes but a good feature when applicable. Lot of recipes - some rather simple like eggs and avocado or nuts & apple. Overall a decent book to add to my collection.

Good series of books
Very good books… I bought all three in the series. Good information and recipes although I have found one or two incorrect ones. Useful to have all three for different stages.
